Yeah yeah. Somewhat (cough) overblown, I know..and darnit, I spot a..eh.. spot on my lens/image sensor… but still..slightly cool effect, no? Ahem.

The awesome bridal suite at Hotel Norge …

_D3S9390-copy

I really like this photo…everything is always about the bride, isn’t? :)

_D3S9620-copy

Now, considering the groom’s a chef, the brides brother’s a chef and well, a buncha friends at the wedding were chefs and stuff… it didn’t come as a surprise that the groom really wanted photos of the behind-the-scenes at the kitchen as well. Seeing as the brides brother were the kitchen's boss/co-owner it also meant allowance in there were no problem (despite how busy&hectic it was at times). Lovesit :)

The company’s Søtt+Salt, by the way. Amazing food, natch.

Sadly, as a wedding photographer I don’t drink at work. Darnit! I love me a nice glass of cognac =)

ania_weddingCD1

Alright, just dropping by to post my CD card for Nathalie + Magne (with their wedding photos, natch).

ania_weddingCD2

It’s a CD envelope created from one sheet of 12x12 paper, as shown here.

Papers and embellishments from Pink Paislee, Prima, Maya ROad, Elle’s Studio, Making Memories and Crate Paper.

The colors are inspired by this one:

Isn’t such a fresh, fun color palette?

I dare say I’ve managed to hit all the colors here =)

~~ I {heart} boxes ~~

Posted by Ania On Tuesday, April 16, 2013 1 lovely comments

Mkay. I love boxes. Plain & simple.

ania_box1

I'm not sure what it is, but when I get my hands on a sturdy, nicely sized cardboard box, like a perfume-box, it just feels wrong to throw it away (even though it'd go to the recycle/paper bin).

before

Take this box, previously holding  3.4 oz of lovely Eau De Parfum (She Wood..one of my faves along with Flowerbomb...but I digress).... I figured I'd put this box to good 2nd use, finding some matching patterned paper for the solid pink-peachy color of the cardboard, and a few Maya Road-embellishments to go...

ania_box2

Like creating a small but effective cluster next to a big heart covering almost the whole box. And oh, you can never go wrong with heart shaped linen! In this case a little bit of color was added by spraying some Maya Mist (dragonfruit pink & sunflower yellow washed out w/buttermilk cream).

ania_box4

The cluster started with a tucked in kraft snowflake behind the new Afternoon Tea blossoms in carnation... which in turn was embellished with a scrap of Scallop Chiffon & Tulle Trim and Antique Jeweled Pearl Pendant and a piece of celery green Twine Cording.

ania_box3

On the other side: The lucky number seven (which's this years big birthday number) labeled with the help of some trim adorning a bottle cap and a starburst of different slices of patterned papers...

I made this box for the Maya Road blog, which you can see here.

Right.

Not sure where to start. Had an amazing but really intensive educational week in Fredrikstad last week. Came straight back to work this past weekend, and I feel like I haven’t been able to catch my breath yet (how long since I actually did that?). So many things I need to check off – both workwise, freelancewise and personal. My main problem? I work too slow, too meticulous, too hung up in stupid unimportant details when I should be looking at the big picture, am too scatterbrained and take too many unnecessarily breaks in between, like now, writing this blogpost. Sigh.

Here’s to an extended upcoming weekend where I’ll do NOTHING (yeah right..how to make the brain stop turning the wheels when you’re supposed to just relax?)– as long as I survive this week…:)

~~ Magne + Nathalie, part 1 ~~

Posted by Ania On Sunday, April 07, 2013 1 lovely comments

So. Had to share a few wedding favorites…

_DSC2673-copy

You see, I had the pleasure of shooting sweet Nathalie’s wedding last night.

_D3S8808-copy

I’ve known Nathalie since Fall 2009, when I started at the local newspaper where I work at now. She’s always full of laugher and really is such a sweet girl. So when she asked if I wanted to shoot her wedding – well, what else could I say but yes? (after asking uh really, you want me? You sure??)

_D3S8875-copy

This is so, so Nathalie. She’s wearing full makeup & hair almost done, it’s like one and half hour left until she’s supposed to be at the church  – yet she insisted on doing the dishes in between so that they didn’t have to start the married life with old dishes. Haha.

_D3S8943-copy

Her mother did her wedding dress..I’m amazed at how well it’s done. Due to her being expecting, they had to wait with doing the finishing touches to the dress up until last minute. _D3S8980-copy

Loved seeing how happy she was walking up the aisle…she laughed and smiled and greeted people along the walk…and look at the cute flower girls & boy!

_D3S8994-copy

I must say..my photobag sure steals the spotlight here..cough cough…_D3S9028-copy

Sigh. The look.

_D3S9053-copy

The flower girl was being curious at who I might be..

_DSC2676-copy

Saying I do…

_D3S9118-copy

Yep. They did.

_D3S9161-copy

Oh yeah! Totally married now!

_D3S9329

I’ll admit..Of all the photos I took this day..this one ranks so, so, so high up….dang..one of my favorites for sure!! Haha._D3S9461-copy

With the groom being a chef (and having worked at the hotel’s top restaurant), the staff added a lot of fun touches for them in the wedding suite. _DSC2696-copy

Normally I dread when wedding clients insists that I do their formal portraits (I make sure to inform my clients I’m more of a photojournalist-photographer, not a portraitphotographer)..it’s so not my forté. I do feel I managed to get a few ok shots here though :)

_DSC2700-copy

Love this kind of portrait.

_DSC2787-copy

Looking dapper! And look, a bowtie! Bowties are so cool. Just ask Dr. Who!

_DSC2798-copy

Laidback groom.

_D3S9354-copy

Such a sweet couple, don’t you agree?

_D3S9687-copy

Now, no wedding speeches are complete without tears…

_D3S0359

Or dance..

_D3S0639-copy

Or cake…

_D3S0391

So pleased to be a part of this wedding!

Right. Time to get packed for this weeks trip! See ya around!
