About Me

Maybe-not-really-20-something-anymore from Norway who likes to scrapbook and take photos documentarystyle and dreams of photojournalism when not working as a photojournalist and that's pretty much what this blog is about. And I like it this way.

My Scrapbooking

Been scrapbooking since late fall 2005. Currently fortunate enough to be a part of the design teams for Hambly Screenprints, Fancy Pants Designs and Pencil-Lines. ♥

Sketchy sketchy sketchy!
This weeks sketch was made and guested by Sharon Ong from Singapore - she made an awesome sketch which I just loved :D
Love the Hambliness here (yep..I am totally inventing that word ;p) :D A mix of new (backgroundpaper & titleframe) and old (pink circles - loves!) stuff :) I have such a hard time picking which photos to use lately (need to stop taking multiple photos!!) but I just adore the expressions of my sister and niece talking together so I decided I'd use them all :p I am even able to spot a few signs here and there in their conversation :D

It's soon Easter - hmm - need to decide wheter I wanna do something springy or not...guess we'll paint a few eggs and stuff at least :)

Speaking of spring - mother-in-law dropped by for dinner yesterday and brought this flower with her (for Amalie :p). When she arrived it had no flowers at all - and by the time she left it started to bloom some....

And this morning Amalie was pleased to see it bloomed even more..

And tonight? Yeap. Almost all the flowers had sprung..
kinda cool how fast it went ;p Makes me wonder if this means I'm gonna kill it quicker than whats normal with my plants ;p

Have a lovely week :)

So cute!! Courtesy of Kine!! :D

Fridayfaveeeee!!

  1. This tea (see above). And this girl. Unable to locate this tea at my local supermarkets (which aren't much to brag about really) she sent me this cute package in the mail :D LOvesit!! Thank you so much!!! The scent makes me nostalgic, thinking of my childhood-candies.. and it tastes like heaven!! :D (not sure about the decaf-part though, I've kinda grown accustomed to coffeine lately ;p)

  2. I have been totally in love with this Martha Stewart Butterfly-punch ever since I saw someone have this one at the crop in Stavanger and somehow it sorta dropped into my preorder-basket from Papir i Hjertet...along with the doilyborderpunch I've been drooling on for a while....*whistle*

  3. I adore Maria Mena. "Belly Up", "All this time", "Fragile", "Lullaby"...and many many more if only I had time to look & link them up but alas..not much time to blog right now sooo!! Her lyrics are so vulnerable, raw and so real...lovesit..

  4. Still waiting impatiently for more info about when 3ndypapirs newest paperlines will hit the shelves, especially Gudruns colorful one! Just look at the sample above - doesn't make you so happy?? I hear they're off to Scraporama this weekend and will bring the new papers along....*sigh* Definitely know it'll be one of my faves as soon as they (hopefully) hit the LSS! :)

  5. Not really like I can call these layouts faves, but I have truly loved working with the Scrappers Choice-material I've been demoing all week..these three are from the FotoKnudsen stores I've been at on tues & weds and they are displayed at the stores there too (hence the bad quality of the photos - I had to hurry snap photos of them in the store when done with the demos) along with a small selection of altered stuff & cards also created during the demos. Really love the papers and thickers (with norwegian letters!) and the cute rubons :D And yes - the layouts are pretty simple - nothing fancysmancy when I'm supposed to demo and have limitations on stuff to use ;) I'll share the rest of the layouts later, I forgot my camera yesterday so I had to ask the store manager to help me out - and the images he sent me contained 0 bytes - ouchie - and these were my fave layouts of the bunch I've made till now too!! :p I've created an average of two layouts, one-two cards or similar and two chocolate-boxes or calendars (only a couple pages!! duh :) ) per demo :) Speaking of Scrappers Choice - Vibeke just launched some new papers, embellishments & stamps - check them out here! :D

In other (scrappy) news -

  • feel free to check out the Fancy Pants designerspotlight on me *smile*
  • Prima has a really cool promotion going on right now - free bling!! :D
  • Speaking of Prima -- the PrimaDonna International Roadtour is coming along nicely, going around Scandinavia and stuff and I'm happy to see they're coming to Oslo (28. april - @Steffens) at least (hopefully more cities in Norway too but these are yet to be finalized afaik) :D You simply can't miss it -- Jen Starr (US) and Tracie Hudson (UK) are the teachers for this tour and they are simply fabulous and will awe you with their dazzling techniques (they know their stuff and tricks alright!) and just imagine the lovely prima-stuff you'll get to play with....ahh!!! (and sigh yes - thats the opportunity I was speaking about a few posts ago)

[Cute photo of Oddbjørg here...supposedly]

Thank you so much for this weekend
- thank you to everybody who took my class on Saturday and to new and old friends I met and especially to Oddbjørg for your generous hospitality taking on three crazy ladies from Bergen + me for the weekend ;) :)

Writing this I'm sorta supposed to do other stuff, so I'll keep it short - just *had* to show these images from yesterdays photosession at Solastranda Hellestøstranda - wonder why?? ;p I'll get back to you with more images by the end of this week I hope :)

Gettin ready..
Looking down Marie was the first to suspect something wasn't really right here..
..and thus trying to jump up once again (like that'll help) while the others get the surprise of their lives (and you can see I was hesistant here wheter to keep taking photos or not putting the camera away at the same time as snapping...:p)

Hummm :)
(and yes these photos are all edited differently..can't decide which way I prefer to edit these...)
Right.
Back to work.
Oh.
One more photo.
I promised to put this on the blog!!

Ps! Yey for Scenic Route :)

Whoppetiwhopp!
Our March-assignment for Hambly was to create projects with the theme "Wish" and to use at least one overlay and sticker..this is how mine turned out. Love the new butterflies and making your own envelope like, freestyle is fun!! :)

Hambly is shipping all the new CHA-releases right now and celebrating it with a little giveaway on the blog. Seriously can't wait to get a refill of the new stuff :D

Tonight I'm off to eat Oreo-madness at TGI Fridays and watching "Watchmen" at the theatre w my husband. Yay :)
(and crap I still haven't packed for tomorrow)

Bah!
Need to vent somewhat.
Undergoing long processes at the hospital sucks. Especially when it leaves you with little to no choice but to take what you're offered re. dates for appointments & surgeries because of having to rely on calling in a foregin specialist in the field. A very busy one (he so better not get sick when he's about to come here cause this was his only available date for the entire year).

Anyways.
It just killed a very cool opportunity I had to travel around&teach a bit in April. Sigh.
Bummer. Totally.
Don't get me wrong. I totally appreciate and really am grateful for the service&efforts from the hosp&doc...just wish it didn't have to crash with already-laid plans and that I was notified way earlier. Like when I started asking around for more info back in January to no avail :(

Jeje.
Post wo photo sucks.
So. Don't think I've shown this layout before -- one of my Fancy Pants layouts for February. Have I mentioned I LOVE the "Splendid" collection? Yeap. Lovelove :)
Photo of my nephews before the wedding-ceremony back around Christmas. I like it. Looks kinda photojournalistic. Or whatever you'd call it. Cool.

Ps. Looking forward to this!
Peeking at this weekends Prima-class - "Good Memories - a minialbumclass" in Stavanger:

Hvorfor velge når du kan få med deg alt?
Ta alle de gode minnene og ta vare på de i denne delikate lille boken med god plass til både bilder og tekst. Med tøff bølgepapp og lekre primaark lager vi en flott bok med forskjellige spennende lommer og utbrettesider. Et komplett album på 1-2-3!

Selve sidene i minialbumet måler ca 4x7” (10x18cm) og på kurset fokuserer vi på å lage albumet helt ferdig!
Bilder til å komplettere ditt perfekte album fikser du selv senere – no photos needed!

See you in Stavanger :)

Wanted to share one of my layouts for Hambly this month of my beautiful niece Becca :) Everything apart from the alphas is from Hambly :)

And I almost forgot this little challenge I got from Cindy, one of the readers of this blog all the way from NZ (*waves* thank you! :) )....it's so sweet and the photo I found is just perfect so I decided to play along!! :)

She wanted me to look for a folder starting with "C" (for her name) - and I found a folder named "Celinekurs" (from when Celine Navarro was in town teaching) - and to pick the third photo in that folder. That was this photo of me and Mari - whom I'll see next weekend - perfect I tell you!! :)

Guess I should pass this on...hm?
Pick a folder named "A" (or with A in it) for my name and pick the first photo you see (cuz A is the letter #1 in the alpha, geddit? ;p)

Id like to pass this on to my friends I'll see next weekend in Stavanger...(you sooo better show yourself when Im there eh!!)

Oddbjørg
Mari
Xtine
Mo9ca
Ingvild

Ps. I won't get upset if you won't do the challenge...I mean, I usually suck at doing challenges myself......but...today I'm in the mood! ;p

Psps! Excited for this!!

Check out this little project I created for the Fancy Pants blog :)
I've been fascinated by this idea ever since I saw someone make something similar from uh, I think it was a writingpad or something like that..with loose ribbons across it. I think it might have been someone at Sassafras or Pink Paislee?? I never remember to save such great projects I see around for future reference...:/ Anyways. I originally wanted to use the back of a stretched canvas, but didn't have one at home when I finally decided it was about time to make one.... so while searching for an available IKEA shadowbox to use instead in my shelves I noticed my Bind-it-All spiralboxes and how they seemed to be the perfect size and all....and recycling is good eh? :)

This is a quick and easy little project, yet it took me what, three days or more to complete?? (Cutting out papers for the outer side = 1 day....cutting out strips for the inner side = another day...gluing them on the box = yet another day....I'm moving at the pace of a snail these days)

Anyways, I'm quite happy about the result (and about finally having all the hairclips in one place! YAY!) and think this must be such a cool idea for quick bdaygifts to little girls :)

Materials: Fancy Pants "On a Whimsy" - this collection really makes me smile :) :)

Mhmm. Pencil-Lines #124, guested by Az :)
Fancy Pants delight. Lovely for such nostalgia-photos, like these of myself cirka -81 at my grandmothers place with her budgerigar named Pelle...I have no idea if it's Pelle no 1, 2, 3, or maybe even 4. All her budgerigars were named Pelle and replaced every once in a while when they died...which was sorta frequently (at least the way I remember it)...once it died because it flew towards the window, not realizing it was a window.....:p
Anyways....I wasn't afraid of them back then......nowdays I kinda jump if one lands on my head (right Sonja? :p)

Pretty much everything's from Fancy Pants - papers, chipboards & ribbon. I even hand-sewed on it (gasp!) and went back to my love for scalloped scissors :)

My little butterfly:

My oldest turned eight. *sigh*
How fast time flies >Guess what he got from us...

Mhmm.. Mario Kart...so popular!

My mom has been her for a few days...leaving tonight..

I can see that loving the phone indeed must be a girlie-trait..

Passing by Amalie in the evening I coudln't resist snapping this photo - coudln't even find Amalie - she was so buried deep down....it's quite unusual for her having all the pets in bed..:p

Working on some scrappy stuff -- I'm going to Stavanger for a crop (plus teaching a class :) ) next weekend (March 13-15 - get in touch with Oddbjørg for more info :) ), working on some more Prima-classes for April (Scandinavian by the looks of it..more info to come soon I hope..) and am most likely going to do some demoing for Scrappers Choice in Bergen later this month..
