~~ White, brown & green? ~~

White, brown & green? Why, sure…

Tagging along the color-challenge over at That’s just so cute for October – white, brown & green.

Maybe not a traditional color-combo (not in my eyes anyways), but hey – am always up for a challenge.

Ofc…brown = beige & kraft….green = adding a turquoise-ish approach as well… :)

Right. Used both Crate Paper & Prima papers for this card, as well as ribbons, doily, chipboard & wooden bird and pin trinkets and clear stamps and tag (phew!) from Maya Road! Oh, and a month tag from Elle’s Studio :)

Right!

Have enjoyed one of the more quieter weekends in a long time. Have even gotten a few calendars wrapped up (mm..been sucking at utilizing the fact that I sort of do take a few (ahem) photos every now and then…but this year? Photo-calendars & even Christmas cards incoming!! That’s right! Watch out!)

Or something like that.

~~ Wedding CD-Card ~~

Posted by Ania On Thursday, October 18, 2012 5 lovely comments

Love it when I can create romantic CD-cards to go with CD’s with – uhm duh – wedding images (see post below for a few of the images enclosed in this CD).

weddingcd1

And what better papers to use for this purpose but the good ole Sweetness-collection from Pink Paislee?? Along with a few sheets of Crate Paper and a heart doily in (on??) the background… Also got to use the toi <3 moi stamp from Craft Origine (and yes I know, it’s not properly lined up, grumble…).

weddingcd2

Wooden buttons & twine from Maya Road as the closurethingie…

weddingcd3

And more Sweetness-papers inside! Love these gorgeous roses…the flap is open, no closure…figured the outer card flaps should provide enough closiness..or whatever you’ll call it….

Right. Sliten.no :p

So need to learn how to not.stress.too.much :/ Because of unforeseen circumstances an interview today was postponed, and wrapped up barely an hour and half before deadline..and delivered about just in time...hate such tight deadlines, hate not feeling like I have time to properly review my interviews with no time to let the words and thoughts stew enough, making sure I got everything and blah blah.…blergh.

Still.

Love my job and my wonderful colleagues :)

Just need to wind down. Stop getting unnecessarily worked up. Learn to chill. Or something like that =)

~~ Moar weddings ~la ~~

Posted by Ania On Monday, October 15, 2012 3 lovely comments

So.

I wasn’t really sure whether I was allowed to share images from my cousin’s wedding, but I just got the green light so here we go. Loads of photos :)

_DSC6613-copy

I attended this wedding as a guest, so I just snuck in a photo or two whenever, & just focused on enjoying the ceremony/party. Also, I didn’t sit close to the aisle so I didn’t get any photos from there, but I don’t mind… while everybody was busy looking for the bride I figured I’d check how the groom was doin’ =)

_DSC6621-copy

See the light from the windows btw? Very gorgeous & attributed to the atmosphere – but for a photographer it pretty much sucked..unless you enjoy working with multiple layers of different exposures & lots of time editing you’re bound to get extreme contrasts & either overblown/shadowry dark areas…remember external flash usually isn’t allowed in wedding ceremonies :p (know of handy tricks for such situations? Feel free to share!)

_DSC6664

Love the gorgeous bolero she wore outdoors. Really added to the old school glam factor!

_DSC6670-copy

Their girls were adorable…loved their coats, I want one in my size!
(Which by the way reminds me I have my eyes set on this rain coat from Paola…pretty pricy but I’m a sucker for good causes/intentions so this’ll be mine come next weekend!)

_DSC6684-copy

So glam!

_DSC6708-copy

So, I took a few reception photos of all the guests…hi auntie+uncle!

_DSC6722-copy

The bride’s parents…they looked very Golden Age-Hollywod :)

_DSC6742-copy

Oy, that’s my mom + stepdad :) *wave*

_DSC6873

Loved how they held hands in the beginning, when welcoming everybody…

_DSC6910

And gosh. So dapper that cousin of mine, don’t ya think?

_DSC6934-copy

Grandma <3

_DSC6944-copy

Love her gesture..

_DSC6957-copy

More grandma :)

_DSC7034-copy

We were also treated with this jazz-y performance by this family ensemble (including the bride’s father). Very longue-like (I suppose? I dunno – I just know I enjoyed the music :p)

_DSC7041-copy

See. Father of the bride himself :)

_DSC7119-copy

This is becoming a tradition in the family – the tree + light of hearts…it’s quite sweet actually.

_DSC7137a

First Dance!

_DSC7156

And a little kiss to seal that dance..

_DSC7245

Umm. 3200 iso. Noticeable noise, and the details won’t be fine full size. Still, I think it’s a pretty amazing feat of the camera performing like this!

_DSC7275-copy

When photographing weddings I’m mostly for not using the flash. Personally I feel like the flash is like, an intruding element on such moments like this. Still, I do see the advantages of using flash for capturing such late night stuff more crispy & better. It’s not very evident here in websized photos, but becomes very clear for fullscale images. Hm. Or i can continue dream about a D4 (but hey, I’ll settle for a D3s, I’m not that picky ;p)

Oh and btw? This cake? Am so, so regretting only having one piece of it!! :’(
I was gonna get more then got occupied then it was time to leave so no moar cake! ><

~~ Grandma dearest ~~

Posted by Ania On Wednesday, October 10, 2012 2 lovely comments

Popping by real quick to share some images of my grandma dearest.

Really want to scrap but have to wrap up a few photos & a few gift stuff before I can indulge in me-time.

_DSC6788

I know these are a handful of photos of an old lady. Not very interesting for most of you.

_DSC6789

But she’s my grandma. She’s turning 97 soon. This December.

_DSC6790

Farmor means fathers mother in Norwegian.

That’s because she’s the grooms fathers mother. (She’s my mothers mother)

_DSC6791

I was asked to snap photos of all the guests in the wedding. Like. Formal reception photos. For their guest book.

_DSC6793

I just snapped a few photos of everybody. Like, until I was happy.

But my grandma? Lots and lots. Love her, remember?

_DSC6794

Plus I find her cute. And I miss her much now. Sigh.

_DSC6797

Mkay. Am stressed out, so I’m gonna hit bed early.

Nite!

~~ Gotta love weddings ~~

_DSC6859

So, just spent a wonderful weekend with my family in Oslo…including my sister dearest (as seen above)._DSC6877

We attended my cousins’ wedding (who hosted the party at Fruene Haugestad, a lovely old manorstyle-house), with lots of amazing food, like this starter seen above, followed by two main dishes

_DSC7028

and then this incredible little cake (strawberry-pistachioscream-cake) made by Condelica (and, apparently, the same dude who made the princess Martha Louises’ wedding cake..and whose a grandchild of an old friend of my grandma..cool…nevertheless….the food..was simply amazing).

My cousin and his bride were both gorgeous and as happy as can be..and I’ll admit..lots of (happy) tears were shed (I oughta bring proper handkerchieves next time)..all in all..a joyous time spent w/family!

_DSC7210

Am especially happy and grateful to spend some time w/grandma…love her so, so dearly…

weddingbox1

And not to forget…wedding = a great excuse to decorate gifts and cards!

Also took some images of the guests for the couple, so I’m looking forward to decorate a cd-album for that too! :)

weddingbox2

Love the mix of Prima-bling and enamel accents…

weddingbox3

And this heart shape..I’ll admit I was gonna put it in my give away scrapbox because I had no idea what to do with it…turns out I just needed to not be too limited by the heart as it was (w/heart shape & flowers on the bottom) – but instead cut out the flowers for another project, and use the “skeleton” on a project like this…I think it worked swell..the huge flower was also another item I didn’t think I’d actually use, but it fit perfectly for a project like this!

weddingbox4

And the gift..love finding and giving away personalized gifts..this one’s a favorite of mine, have used the same artist twice before you see…love her vision and touches…The Brick Kiln. And if you ask nicely, she’ll ship internationally (just beware it’ll take longer time+be more costy when it comes to the shipping..but it’s worth it :) ).

ingrid jon1

Originally I figured I didn’t need a card when having an unique gift wrapping…but when the date started to draw close I couldn't ignore the itch to create a card to go with the gift after all :p

I used different Prima papers (Romantique, songbird and almanac)…

ingrid jon2

And embellishments from Hambly Screenprints, Prima and Maya Road.

Right! Looks like a rough week ahead w/lots to do at work…will try sneak in some time scrapping & editing still! :)

Managed to whip up another card for the Pink Paislee world card day thingie :)

This time I mixed papers from Queen Bee (loves) with clear stamp from Cupid & canvas border (sticker) from Sweetness. This one’s for the stamp & sticker-challenge.

Right! Off to bed…am so zzzzz after today! (but it was fun! =) )

~~ A masculine card? Hm.. ~~

Posted by Ania On Wednesday, October 03, 2012 0 lovely comments

So.

This Saturday is World Card Making Day, and Pink Paislee have card challenges every day.

pp1

First challenge: Create masculine cards. Hm. I thought I was doing good until I decided to add flowers and ribbons. Now I’m not so sure, haha. Metro-ish card? :p

Nevertheless. Just wanted to join – and pulled out strips from my very first meeting with Pink Paislee-papers – in 2009 they had these amazing collections and I fell in love with all the collections…enchanting..fetching..what was that 3rd collection? Hmhm… ahwell. Mixed in tags from the Amber Road and Parisian Anthology collections. The cork clock’s from 365 degrees-collection. Oh, and piece of canvas border from the Old School-collection. Flowers from Prima :)

Right. Off to work on the next cards while listening to Les Miserables!
(am sort of hooked these days…that+Regina Spektor’s new album!)
