Wrapping more stuff, using the perfect stamps from Craft Origine :)

ania_aug

Even getting to use good ol’ Scenic Route papers :)

ania_aug2

Life’s sort of slow and fast at the same time. Lots of time spent on work and other work-related stuff, like studying for an upcoming exam and doing exciting and inspiring projects.

So I’ve decided to start a little bit earlier on gifts and stuff. I think. I hope.

In other news, Maya Road is announcing a new card kit type thing. Go check it out :)

Also – check out this song – yeah - I’m late to the party, but I love it now, that’s what count, eh? :)

Don’t you love the nod to Wicked’s Popular? :)

~~ Ink & Mist ~~

Don’t you think life seem to keep accelerating the older you grow?

Hum.
Time to share some more scrappy inspiration, eh? :)

ania_may1

Here’s a little brown bag filled with surprises for a co-worker of mine who needed a little cheer-me-up.

The stamps are from Craft Origine, adore these! Am also testing out new dew-shaped ink from Tsukineko (called Dew Drop I think..?) – got a few boxes with a number of these – and am very impressed by the performance of the ink & the colors.

ania_fiskars1

I also tried to stretch my style & try a little bit of artjournalish stuff for a tag. Fun, but it’s like, just add random stuff… mist and gesso and then dry in between and add rubons and stamps and more gesso and more drying and ink and stuff… fun though!

ania_fiskars2

Pretty much everything on this card is from Maya Road but the patterned papers.

Look at me, I can stamp!

Sort of.

:) Just sharing a couple cards made w/Craft Origine-stamps…love the wood mounted stamps – yields such gorg, crisp impressions! (oh and notice – I’m finally getting rid of my box of Heidi Swapp ghost stars! :D)

ania_march1

This stamp was also used on the 1st card btw – just inked & cut out the 1st banner sort of :)

ania_march2ania_march3

Babyphotocards must have this onesie transparency cut out from Hambly! Also, hidden behind that is a gem studded heart trinket from Prima.

Btw, ColorConspiracy is soon coming out with a new release – Texturize 2.0. Loved the first one, love this one as well :)

~~ Happy 60th ~~

60

Made a few boxes for someone turning 60. I suppose I should just have done one big box, but…it sort of looked better like this.

60a

Added lots of Maya Road embellishments to the yellow box…

60b

Love playing with glitter…even though it gets a bit messy…still…can’t let go of using glitter every now and then! And adding clear distress crackled paint to wooden pieces yields a subtle yet lovely effect methinks.

60e

The second box was decorated using papers from ColorConspiracy, stamp from Craft Origine and embellishments from Prima, Crate Paper (that cute brad) and Jenni Bowlin (the tickets).

60c

Every box had room for four of these French macarons (recipe by Banglamarie, in Norwegian. Give it a trry. Makes a few quite yummy macarons :) ). Just ask my coworkers, they seemed to like my Valentines gift this year:

IMG_7173

Nevertheless.

60f

The third box was the simplest one of them all. Simple, but elegant, if I may say so myself. Stamp by Craft Origine, patterned paper by Basic Grey (anyone recall that collection? Like, 2006 or so :) ).

60g

Nevertheless. Give handmade gifts a try. Just make a simple box like this:

IMG_7196

Hmm. Can’t recall the exact measurements I used, but it seems to be like, 5,5x11 inches..the main point is: Trace around your gift(s) and build your box accordingly...

IMG_7197

When you have the basic box, just wrap another piece of cardstock around – then decorate the boxes as you please. Sucky explaination and sucky photos, but still – you get the gist..the idea was just to let you know – this is quite simple really :)

Right! Off to watch Corpse Bride with Amalie…we watched The Nightmare before Christmas last night, and she got so fascinated she wanted to watch “more movies like that” today. So pleased she seem to appreciate Tim Burton on her own! :)

~~ Oh, Kasper! ~~

When we stayed in Oslo for Christmas, Amalie brought quite a few books over as well. Among them a book about Kasper and Lisa (Gaspard and Lisa), which she thought would be the perfect bedtime-story for her cousin named..Kasper! :)

ania_jan1

I played around with mist, stencils, stamps and rub-ons on this layout, making them the main compartments here rather than patterned paper…I have to say I think it went quite well, no? It’s slightly messy but not that messy….? I used stamps from Craft Origine (a lot of them actually), stencils from Baltzer Designs and SODAlicious, rubons from Hambly and mist from Maya Road and Tattered Angels.

ania_jan2

I also used both Rangers distress ink & pigment ink from Maya Road by the way…am trying to be better at not only using black & brown ink….oh, and the only patterned paper’s the one from Oh Baby! Boy from BAsic Grey. Oldie but goldie :)

ania_jan3

So..hope you liked this layout.. I’m not into the art journal-ish stuff so I suppose this probably looks messy and weird for those who are in the know :p

~~ Hi, first layout of 2013! ~~

Posted by Ania On Friday, January 04, 2013 2 lovely comments

ania_dec

Soo I’ve scrapped! Actually I’m on my 2nd layout of 2013…been “working” on the title for the last three days (just thinking and going “yeah, I should finish this by figuring out what letters and stuff to use” on that 2nd layout for the last three evenings but not really done anything w/it..cough!)

ania_dec3

Right!

This layout! Wanted to scrap this photo of my grandma and nephew from earlier last year..

Things to note: the film strip, the Scenic Route-arrow and the kraft letter stickers from Hambly!

ania_dec2

For New Year’s Eve I punched out a lot of mini stars using white cardstock…looked smashing against the dark purple table… ofc I kept the negatives (I’m so not gonna punch out that many stars at once ever again!).

I’ve used two of the new Craft Origine stamps here, along with one of the flair buttons from Sasha’s ebaystore PaperPlay :).

Speaking of Craft Origine, they’re releasing three new stamps atm, among them this one. So beautiful!

Oh, and Maya Road just released a sneak peek on their new catalog:

I promise..there’s so many things in here that I want asap!

Of other brand new CHA collections I’m especially eager about are the ones from Prima, Crate Paper, MME, American Crafts (Dear Lizzy!) and Pink Paislee!

~~ Wedding CD-Card ~~

Posted by Ania On Thursday, October 18, 2012 5 lovely comments

Love it when I can create romantic CD-cards to go with CD’s with – uhm duh – wedding images (see post below for a few of the images enclosed in this CD).

weddingcd1

And what better papers to use for this purpose but the good ole Sweetness-collection from Pink Paislee?? Along with a few sheets of Crate Paper and a heart doily in (on??) the background… Also got to use the toi <3 moi stamp from Craft Origine (and yes I know, it’s not properly lined up, grumble…).

weddingcd2

Wooden buttons & twine from Maya Road as the closurethingie…

weddingcd3

And more Sweetness-papers inside! Love these gorgeous roses…the flap is open, no closure…figured the outer card flaps should provide enough closiness..or whatever you’ll call it….

Right. Sliten.no :p

So need to learn how to not.stress.too.much :/ Because of unforeseen circumstances an interview today was postponed, and wrapped up barely an hour and half before deadline..and delivered about just in time...hate such tight deadlines, hate not feeling like I have time to properly review my interviews with no time to let the words and thoughts stew enough, making sure I got everything and blah blah.…blergh.

Still.

Love my job and my wonderful colleagues :)

Just need to wind down. Stop getting unnecessarily worked up. Learn to chill. Or something like that =)

~~ Always chasing him ~~

sept1

She loves to chase him. Every.time.they.meet. She truly adores babies, but have a special eye for him. And there’s no doubt he feels safe around her.

sept2

*love love* this sheet of ILS paper. That graphic? The color combo? Total loves. Shame I only have one sheet of it, but I knew these pictures totally deserved this kind of paper. Added droplets of liquid pearls, random buttons from my Fancy Pants Designs jar of buttons, glitter stickers from Pink Paislee, washi tape and strips of papers from SODAlicous.

sept3

This clic-stamp from Craft Origine is an absolute fave. It’s colored with two different Faber Castell PITT pen (walnut brown and warm grey), but they seem the same color…hmm..weird…maybe the last ink I used (which was black) wasn’t entirely washed away by the time I used the pen+stamp? Hmm. Need to experiment further!

sept4

I joined the Faber Castell challenge on TwoPeas w/this layout by the way. Have no illusions of winning – I mean – they’re looking for unique, artsty ways to use the different coloring products (you have to use at least three different FC prods, one of which has to be the gelato). And with artsy I mean AJ-ish style which’s so popular among scrapbookers these day. Nevertheless. Fun to be challenged to use products I normally do not use! I mixed regular art grip coloring pen w/yellow gelato for this resin bird (by Prima).

sept5

And colored red/orange/yellow gelato pen on this sheet of SODAlicous-paper and punched out all these butterflies. And look! Hambly Screenprints transparencies!

sept6

For good measure I added some childish doodles on the sheet haha. Anna-Maria is good at this, I need to learn her secret on how to do these effortless yet stylish & cool doodles on layouts!

Right. Had an exhausting week w/lots of brainmush (you know..when you feel your brain’s turning to mush? yeah..no comments, please :p). Looking forward to relax (??) this weekend…maybe even pick up some energy to scrap! :p

~~ Homework ~~

homeworks1

I don’t think I’ve been so thrilled about paper in a good while the same way as I have felt about the papers from I lowe scrap. I know. Chevron is everywhere. Still. Love the way they did this chevron paper! And they have so many amazing papers..I think their Xmas-collection is one of the coolest ones out there…  (and I am loving the b side here too…so so special….I so hate this about two sided patterned papers – when both are equally amazing..sigh…!)

I used sketch #171 from Skissedilla for this layout:

homeworks2

And used three different stamps from Craft Origine on this one (note to self: stamp first, add paint after…not the other way around). The one above is the stamp clic. Also, added a strip of notepapers from SODAlicious – another Polish manufacturer I really admire (I purchased SODAlicious paper + the ILS papers at their webshop).

homeworks3

Pulled the Hambly Screenprints transparency for this one….*love*

As well as finally got to use this Pink Paislee doodad…truly loved these….and truly did not want to use these at all, just save save save….but that’s like..hoarding…and I’m trying to quit that!! (haha right). Letters from Websters Pages. And if you look closer underneath the orange letters on the transparency….you can see the Dentelle 5 stamp embossed in white. homeworks4

The dark splatters are Earl Grey Maya Mist from Maya Road, white drops are white enamel accents from Rangers (I wish the liquid pearl would create such gorgeous, perfect drops like the enamel do every.single.time.)… Gem from KaiserCraft (I consider this red colored gem a must have for any stash). The paint threads are distress crackle paint…I tried mixing some of the acrylic paint I have here with mist to create paint that would do such “thread” paint prettily like the crackle paint, to no avail…sigh…must buy more crackle paint I suppose, unless you know of the perfect paint that’ll allow for easy “threading” or whatever you call this??? All mine are too thick :/ ANyways… wooden star from Prima Marketing, brad from Crate Paper and I adore this geometrical stamp from Craft Origine – one of my faves – Dentelle 6.

homeworks5

See the numbers on top? I’ve had this little, cheap stamproller from Glitz for like, forever…can’t believe I haven’t opened & used it until now..it’s so, so cool! And if you look at the papers, the chevron one is resting upon a sheet of turquiose-green paper from Crate Paper. Right. Wooden button from American Crafts, lovely glazed brad from – I’m almost positive – Basic Grey.

And the layout? Well..the kiddo has his way of sitting when doing homework…or watching tv,..or anything that involves sitting actually. Silly kid.

Haha. I dunno if this is tragic or great.

Last night I thoroughly enjoyed putting together a layout, using stuff (mis)placed on my desk only (including the immediate shelves above the desk). I sort of thought…if I am cleaning up/organizing…then actually using the stuff on a project would surely help towards this goal? Sure – but at this rate it’ll take YEARS. Anyways! The result is this:

city1

As I mentioned in my last post…I *sort of* am trying to clean up my room & desk. Except. I don’t really think it’s going too well….I am too attached to stuff, too “oh but if I keep it there I’ll surely use it sooner or later” and well..I have no idea where else to put stuff at other on my table or nearby…because unless I need that particular item for an assignment, it simply won’t get used if it’s out of sight…..then again…it makes for an embarrassing mess, as seen below:

IMG_5719-2

(not much different from all the other pictures I’ve shared of my desk earlier, is it? Maybe just a little more organized as I did try to clean up all the loose small embellishments onto boxes and stuff…but haha, you can’t really tell from the picture)

Dang. Here I go with my woes again. Sorry.

NEVER.THE.LESS! The picture pulled was one I’ve printed out a while ago then decided against using at that time (happens all the time – resulting is lots of odd pictures here and there everywhere)…but! ScrappeHuset has a challenge about scrapping w/sun/summer as a theme, suggesting that people could use their older summer pictures….and well, the picture on the layout hails all the way from June 2010, so why not =)

Allow me to walk you down the memory lane…(warning…scrap nerd talk incoming):

city2

All the paperscraps come from recent (and not-so-recent) projects. American Crafts, Crate Paper, Prima… I think I’ve gathered most of the loose ones on my desk onto a little pile on a chair right behind mine, so I can flip through. Great system eh? (cough..until we need the chair somewhere else, or the others decide the chair is taking too much space in the room…which’s a shared pc/scrapbookroom used by all 4 of us…). The blue spots are one of my fave mists, chalkboard mist in peacock. Am halfway down the bottle! Add some KaiserCraft gems, orange glazed brads from I have no idea who…Fancy Pants Designs maybe….chipboard-butterfly from Sassafras…awesome letters from Basic Grey…love this font…oh and sequins! Bronze flower sequins! I think I got these from Trude Julie, or Mari ….I can’t really recall who….also got some cool yellow ones at that time, but can’t find them now :(

city3

And LOOK! White Basic Grey rub-ons (see right under the badge)….I *loved* these long, elaborate, elegant swirls…this one was the last one in the packet, which’s surely close to four years old…sitting in one of my boxes on the desk being saved for the “perfect” project…..still rubbed nicely off!

And above the American Crafts flair button – a Heidi Swapp ghost heart!!! (boy do I sound scrap-nerdy now!??). Love her new lines…but revisiting the old prod she did put out a lot of great stuff in the old days, with Advantus (ok, maybe not the rubons, the design rocked but was impossible to rub off!)! And the blue dotted paper behind the picture? It’s actually a note/business card from Craft Origine…I just loved the pattern on the back and had to use it.

city4

Moving on higher….doily stamp from Craft Origine..from their recent new release…stamped with weathered wood distress ink actually, I don’t think I’ve actually used it since I purchased it heavens know how long ago. Am loving the color, so note to self: use it more! A Pink Paislee sticker I saved for so long…figured it might as well end up on this layout too…..blue felt embellishment from Fancy Pants …you know the huge 12x12” sheets of lovely felt embellishments? Have too many of them, can’t separate myself from them though cause…felt is cute! This one (and a butterfly) fell off once I was gonna use the primary ones, and was left on a disk on my desk for three years at least…cough. Orange dotted transparency from Hambly Screenprints… butterflystamps from Craft Origine, the stamp to the right as well (shabby shutters distress ink which’s embossed w/clear embossing powder for the butterflies, plain broken china distress ink for the text one). New cording twine from Maya Road, wooden button from American Crafts (Dear Lizzy..love her stuff!), yellow photo-clip which I found a whole box of at work once, from the pre-digital-times :D)…adorned with a gem….vintage hanger from Maya Road….

city5

Hmhmhm….more Hambly transparencies (a frame I cut in half once…thinking I’d use the other half sometime soon :p). Oh, and another Craft Origine stamp – again w/weathered wood..love the silver grey color!)

city6

And haha! June 2010 tag from Elle’s Studio! Perfect, cause the image’s from June 2010 =) Paperstrip from prima, the black clock as well (I cut it out once then decided against using – didn’t want to throw away tho)…tags from Maya Road and Pink Paislee….Sassafras butterfly….heart decorated w/hambly paper….

That’s it!

Looking throw what I’ve written now I realize three things: I have a problem throwing away scraps and bits and stuff (d’oh). I have a problem w/organizing when it comes to the little things (big things too actually…cough..and doh!). I might be a little bit nerdy when I get to talk about scrappy stuff, especially the good old stuff from way back..…

Oh, and that I really miss mixing stuff again (for DT stuff, some manufs require you to use their prod only, others allow you to go like 60% or 75% or whatever of their products…so to just keep it safe w/the various requirements and guidelines – plus out of respect, since you’re after all supposed to showcase their stuff – I’ve just stuck to one manuf whenever I could…then it just became a habit over the years).

Ha. Fun. Now. Back to trying to clean up. Organize. Fooling myself into thinking I can do this. Whatevs.

:)
