Since last time I’ve made a box outta Maya Road’s lunch boxes, decorated’em with more Maya Road embellishments.

The booklet/card is made outta cardboard – cut’em out, adhere patterned papers & decorate..

I’ve also taken some time to decorate more pressies…

I’ve been wanting to do this mini for quite a while now..

I just haven’t dared…I mean..I knew I *had* to use the Sew Cute Mini Chipboard set from Maya Road – no doubt. Add in the measurement trim and stuff…perfect accessories to these photos:

Which is from 2006..when I visited my grandma with a pair of newly purchased pants, a tiny tad (cough) too long. No worries, grandma fixed them with her trusty, old Singer sewing machine.

At least, she helped preparing the sewing machine…
(and no, I do not think I stood there pantless taking photos of mom and grandma. I think I had the new pants in a bag when I arrived. If memory serves me right..cough..)

Nevertheless….the sewing machine worked swell..

Stamps and embellishments all from Maya Road – lovely papers from ColorCOnspiracy :) I wanted this mini to be as clean as possible, with focus on the photos inside..

As far as I am aware, grandma likes getting these little gifts from me. Well, mom keeps telling me so, urging me to send grandma more. And I wanted her to have this little album..I mean..she probably forgot about it by now, but I remember how nice it was having her old (supercool) sewing machine actually being used just for me sort of…how nice it was to be able to snap photos of her and my mom together, trying to solve this puzzle….I’m sure the sewing machine hadn’t been used for years….

Don’t you agree that these chipboards were simply just perfect for this theme? Love how coloring whitewashed chipboards makes the maya mist really shine – especially when adding glossy accent on top!

Oh, and I made the mini myself from scratch. Like. Hm. Yeah. Couldn't find a mini that fit how I wanted it so I just pulled together some papers, chipboards and adhesive…

So. Here’s another minialbum created for the Maya Road CHA-W booth…love the mix of different fabrics here – canvas, burlap and tulle! And ofc…lots and lots of trinket pins! :) Stamping on the fabric was hm, interesting…I still have to perfect that technique! Or maybe it’s just luck…?? Nevertheless…seems like the archival stamp pads are the best for such purposes (out of the ink pads I own)…anyone out there w/better ink pad suggestions or tip on stamping on fabric?

The fun part about making minibooks are that they usually turn out like this….even though I try to minimize the layers….can’t help it – it’s so fun adding bits and pieces and tbh, stuffed minibooks are sort of fun just for the heck of it…looks so…fun! (Now, count the times I’ve used the word “fun” in this sentence :p I’m oh, so eloquent, I know!)

I used papers from SODAlicious for my chipboard pages…oh, and see that white doily behind the crackled bird/dove? It’s the new doily stamp set from Maya Road. Loves!

The mini’s about mine and Amalies trip to DNS (the Norwegian theatre)…it’s one of our dearest traditions…to attend plays together once or twice a year. I usually ask my oldest son to come along as well, but he keeps saying naah, not interesting enough, and I don’t want to force him..it has to be something he actually feel like doing (and let’s face it…it’s darn expensive going to the theatre, so better not waste it on someone who doesn’t really want to…but once I find a play I think he’ll like…he’s so coming with! Although..to be fair… he’s been to Annie with us not so long ago.. :p)

Nevertheless…this time we went to see Octavia, the resident ghost of the theatre. She was an actress back when the theatre was new, and still roams the theatre… It was an interactive play where she showed the kids around the theatre, told about the different plays and characters she played when she was alive and showed the kids backstage and stuff…fun fun. Here we found a shoe in the stairs, and Amalie got to try it out..with help from Octavia..

Amalie thought it was hilarious when Octavia told them that the most boring character she ever played was Princess Vilikke (roughly translated to Dontwantto). She didn’t wanna do anything!

Notice the kraft butterfly? I stamped it with the peacock clear stamps in deep rose pigment ink (Maya Road).

Oy. Playing with homemade ombre & measurement ribbon!

I figured I’d add photos and kraft stuff to the chipboard-pages, and do a little more artsy stuff to the burlap-pages, btw.

More ombre…& popsicle blue maya mist…pwetty!

Fun coincidence: The play that was rehearsed on the stage while we wandered around was “Snow Queen” (Snødronningen, by H.C. Andersen)….which was the next play me and Amalie went to a few months later :)

Hmm don’t think I’ve shared this one here actually…it’s a mini from the Christening of my nephew..

Hmm..that pretty much sums it up..have made a few others, but uhm, they’re not like, faves …which’s the purpose of these posts, no? =)

Thanks much for the lovely comments on my photos from the confirmation! I’m still in awe myself at how grown up my little babyniece has become…and at her mature actions, mixed up with sweet glimpses of childhood innocence…ahh..

I promised scrappy stuff.

This was our gift for my niece.
And may I just say? *love* *love* the papers from I {lowe} scrap! (yes, ILS spell it w/w)

I took an empty Maya Road box, made a card that fit inside plus a “belt” so I could decorate the front properly as well…. the decoration was quite simple: A dressed up chipboard filefolder from the road signs box from Maya Road, and various scraps that was either on or close to my desk ;p Even got to use an old, glittery plate from Making Memories, the ubercool vinyl thicker (which had to be glued on – its own glue was long time gone)…a canvas butterfly (MR) which I tested some stamping on then decided against using on my project way back…well..got to use it here…and love the pins + the vintage pearly gem :)

I *love* the jewellery we gave her, made by Sara Christine Warholm. The inscription reads “gjør det umulige mulig”….”make the impossible possible”. Added a little matchbook-album w/photos of her (one each year…well..almost..those I could find on the pc…blush) & room for money on each sides of the box.


It started w/1998, and I think I had a photo for each year following 2000.

And finally..the card…
A very simple once, since the paper’s pretty graphic. Just…patterned paper, a doily + the chipboard portrait (sprayed w/sunflower yellow & covered w/iridescent glitter + glossy accent on top…oh, and the banner chipboard…both chipboards from Maya Road..

Right! Working on more scrappy stuff…going ever so slowly, adding little bits here and there…now that the # of design teams I’m on is down to two, I don’t have that many deadlines to reach…which’s pretty boring whenever I wanna scrap more (I’m used to scrap following deadlines or challenges, I need either one to actually scrap :p). Although I’ll admit it’s nice too when work’s keeping me so busy I’m exhausted and just hits bed early in the evenings...which admittedly happens more often than not! :p

So. Embrace yourself for yet another CHA-blogpost w/lots of photos. Part 1 can be found here, and the first minialbum can be found here.

I created three minialbums for CHA, although only one can be said to be a “traditional” minialbum… the 3” Vintage Memory Box (see link above) are so fun to create, and doesn’t really feel like a real minialbum…it just feels..fun…. and as for the chipboard flag banner book, I opted to create each banner like an individually page sort of, like a hanging thingie…but not really like a banner… like this:

I started making this blue one first, covering it with LilyBee papers and then various wooden items – some painted, some crackled, some misted…

I really like how the paint and mists are reacting differently w/the wood, depending on whether it was prepared w/gesso in advance or not..

I especially love the scroll detail – when I shipped it off to CHA I packed a wad of papers under the paper-strip so it wouldn’t break during shipping…I thought it was obvious, but I actually saw a photo from the Maya Road CHA booth showing they didn’t remove the protective paper, haha… cough…

Nevertheless..when creating this one, I looked at the three other flags and thought..why not just continue w/the theme specific stuff..…

So I made a green one, this time w/papers from American Crafts..showcasing the Kraft and trinket pin embellishments.

I love how you can mix the mini Kraft ticket, the larger one and the transparent one…. and I love love using pins!

Especially the larger one to the right! My fave! Crystal Star!

Now, if you’ve noticed the ribbons used…there’s four new ones…1/4 “ double stitched velvet ones..so I figured ok, I’ll move on to pink. This time I returned to LilyBee and found a pink sheet from there.. I wasn’t quite sure what to “showcase” for this one though, so I just found some ribbons and a large bottle cap and then just created this one.

See..used my fave trinket pin again….and the middle vintage trinket? Love it!

Had to add this ‘lil cherry too….love it….it’s so cute! Oh and I adore the Iridescent glitter…..have already used half the bottle..need.more!

I sort of like how the small organza roses trim fit the width of the tin perfectly…here in sand..

Finally..the white one….this time/w American Crafts paper & w/glitter and chipboard as theme…oh and mist too I guess! Did I mention that I love the iridescent glitter?? Showcases the mistcolors in such a pretty way! I’ll let the photos speak for themselves…:

Cause here’s the third minialbum…a real mini too…

Using the picket fence album…had fun adding crackle paint to the front gate and then adding chipboardstuff…you get a sheet of the chipboard embellishments used on this gate included in this minialbum…

Then washi tape, white embossed stamping and shiney shiney glossed up letters…the papers used throughout this album is American Crafts’ Dear Lizzy – Neapolitan.

See? Shiiinyyy!

Hmm. There’s so many pages in this book…or rather, I sort of took a lot of photos I guess…I’ll share a few here, and if you’re interested, you can find all the images here on TwoPeas.
