Haha, loved when the girls used the gate-thingie to get some peace from poor little Kasper…

cmon4

Love this polka dot background from October Afternoon, wanted a lil pop of red against it..the red measurement tape is perfect cause it’s about differences in sizes too, sorta :) Theyre using his little size against him :)

cmon5

Maya Road has a lot of kraft pins out atm, among them this heart shaped one…I wanted to fold the hearts out & stamped it with vintage wallpaper stamp sheet in w/clear embossing :) Oh, and notice the wooden ruler/angle thingie in the upper edge of the photo…love it :)

cmon7

More pop of red with the new tulle flower from Maya Road :) Also appreciate that Maya Road comes w/thinner wooden rulers now, I liked the original ones but often felt they were too thick for my purposes..

Made this layout for the CHA show by the way :)

card1

Playing with different styles…this one’s for the inspiration challenge over at ColorConspiracy, which can be seen here.

card2

Love that graphic papers seem so perfect for cards for youths and stuff…

Which brings me to this: Happy birthday to my oldest nephew! :)

Seems like yesterday this little kid was so eager to show me the signs he had learned in kindergarten…awww! Later he and his little brother thought I looked like the Asian girl in Power Rangers….kick ass!

~~ A complicated heart ~~

complicated1

The heart is a complicated thing. Like, literally.

compicated2

A colleague of mine recently had to undergo surgery because of her complicated heart. I immediately thought of the Maya Road canvas hearts and how it would be the perfect focal point for a dressed up chocolate gift for her (selfish, I know).

complicated4

I put a lot of Maya Road goodies to good use here..like the measure ribbon, which I have grown to love (took me a while, though!) – it curls so perfect…

complicated2

Add pleated satin ribbon….vivid mists on gessoed canvas….a tucked in vintage key…trinkets and other bits..

complicated3

And ofcourse…the ornate vintage butterfly stamp – love it!

Right…atm busy renovating the kitchen…or rather..throwing away the old kitchen & getting in a brand new kitchen…am taking a few days off work to get stuff done….with no time for creative endeavours so far, cry….despite me having a lot of brand new papers I’m itching to use..….sigh…

Ahwell..will get right back to scrapping once the kitchen’s ready!

~~ My very first ColorConspiracy-projects ~~

Posted by Ania On Monday, January 14, 2013 4 lovely comments

Soo…I mentioned in last post that I’m now part of the ColorConspiracy design team…and I’ve now played with their papers for real…love the subtle graphic patterns… most of them are my fave kind of patterned paper – monocromatic or duotones..I find such papers quite easy to use :)

And, since there’s CHA going on atm (you probably do not want to miss the sneak peeks & chances on giveaways on the Maya Road blog by the way) I usually drop by TwoPeas to join their CHA challenges…which I did this weekend as well, putting my ColorConspiracy papers to good use :)

First out is this layout of my lovely niece…

rebecca1

Love the cleaniness of this layout, if I may say so myself *smile*.

The challenge was to use five photos on one project… well, five photos – check :p

rebecca2

I find these photo-die cuts cute..comes in different colors…figured I’d use yellow here. Figured it needed a little extra dimension so I added this red brad from Pink Paislee :)

rebecca3

Love the clean, red letters too, by the way – I can’t recall the brand..Scenic Route mayhaps?

rebecca4

And this flair button from PaperPlay’s perfect here! Just the right hue of blue + added splash of red :)

And then I joined this challenge that’s about using seven kind of different patterned papers….figured it’d be a nice way to familiarize myself with ColorConspiracy’s papers ;)

k1

Look, I even hand stitched that tag! Which by the way was dolled up by a Craft Origine-stamp, by the way. And the bright, yellow tulle flower is one of the new releases from Maya Road this CHA, by the way.

k2

And although all the papers are double sided, I made sure to not cheat – I did use seven different patterned papers here.

k3

The colors of these papers makes me happy :)

k4

And here’s my presentation over at the ColorConspiracy blog :)

Random scrapping thoughts: Before I joined ColorConspiracy…I was asked…but you’re mainly a shabby chic-kind of scrapper…? Hum. I really don’t consider myself a shabby chic kind of scrapbooker..when I hear shabby/shabby chic I picture a totally different style than mine to be honest…and still… I’ve gotten these kind of comments before too, about my style.

I dunno..maybe it’s the projects that I create in that style that’s the most memorable? Personally I like to think my style depends on the papers and embellishments I’m using, and the theme..the same goes for what I picture will fit the recipient if it’s a card or altered gift.. most scrappers I know find it difficult explaining or deciding what ones style is…me included.. nevertheless…I haven’t really had that much graphic papers in my stash before, so I’m really excited to see how I’ll do with these papers…whether it’ll really be different from what people picture is “me”, or if it won’t matter..I’ll still create what others picture as shabby…? :)

~~ Oh, Kasper! ~~

When we stayed in Oslo for Christmas, Amalie brought quite a few books over as well. Among them a book about Kasper and Lisa (Gaspard and Lisa), which she thought would be the perfect bedtime-story for her cousin named..Kasper! :)

ania_jan1

I played around with mist, stencils, stamps and rub-ons on this layout, making them the main compartments here rather than patterned paper…I have to say I think it went quite well, no? It’s slightly messy but not that messy….? I used stamps from Craft Origine (a lot of them actually), stencils from Baltzer Designs and SODAlicious, rubons from Hambly and mist from Maya Road and Tattered Angels.

ania_jan2

I also used both Rangers distress ink & pigment ink from Maya Road by the way…am trying to be better at not only using black & brown ink….oh, and the only patterned paper’s the one from Oh Baby! Boy from BAsic Grey. Oldie but goldie :)

ania_jan3

So..hope you liked this layout.. I’m not into the art journal-ish stuff so I suppose this probably looks messy and weird for those who are in the know :p

~~ Hi, first layout of 2013! ~~

ania_dec

Soo I’ve scrapped! Actually I’m on my 2nd layout of 2013…been “working” on the title for the last three days (just thinking and going “yeah, I should finish this by figuring out what letters and stuff to use” on that 2nd layout for the last three evenings but not really done anything w/it..cough!)

ania_dec3

Right!

This layout! Wanted to scrap this photo of my grandma and nephew from earlier last year..

Things to note: the film strip, the Scenic Route-arrow and the kraft letter stickers from Hambly!

ania_dec2

For New Year’s Eve I punched out a lot of mini stars using white cardstock…looked smashing against the dark purple table… ofc I kept the negatives (I’m so not gonna punch out that many stars at once ever again!).

I’ve used two of the new Craft Origine stamps here, along with one of the flair buttons from Sasha’s ebaystore PaperPlay :).

Speaking of Craft Origine, they’re releasing three new stamps atm, among them this one. So beautiful!

Oh, and Maya Road just released a sneak peek on their new catalog:

I promise..there’s so many things in here that I want asap!

Of other brand new CHA collections I’m especially eager about are the ones from Prima, Crate Paper, MME, American Crafts (Dear Lizzy!) and Pink Paislee!
