Smile…I think I am in love w/the color yellow….and glitter…despite the whole glitter-affair being a love-hate relationship…

smile_tag_web

I’ll admit to liking the combo yellow & grey more and more…Not to mention the hexagon trend? Sold.

smile_card_web1

What’s nice with tags are that they’re easily mountable on card bases, yielding one quick card.

smile_card_web2

So. Smile.

smile_card_web3

And don’t forget to add some glitter too.

If you fancy seeing the other card I made w/the presummer-releases from Maya Road, feel free to head over here. I’ll freely admit I think this card is much, much better than the other one not shown here :p

In other news…

…toiling towards completion of the CHA-projects for Maya Road…due to be shipped off next week…

…loving the new ice mocca at the local cafe, not far away from work (not good for my wallet though)

…finally hit level 60 in Diablo 3, whee…

…looking forward to the new Craft Origine stamps, supposed to arrive here on Friday! Here’s some of my favorites:

Pretty posh, eh?

Here’s some more of the new stamps..

Crossing fingers I’ll be able to wrap up the CHA stuff so I can play some w/the stamps this weekend…

Don’t miss out on Craft Origine’s Golden Week this week filled w/challenges!

Here’s a layout I made using Craft Origine stamps…. love my nieces’ room – and got her to list up things she loves & hates these days!

ania_june2

The stamp on this polaroid-frame is from the Notes set. And had to sneak the Maya Road kraft owl in haha :)

ania_june3

And this Dentelle 2 wooden stamp is actually wickedly cool…

ania_june4

The papers are a mix of old and new American Crafts papers. The resin-flowers are from Prima (love the colors & shape!)

ania_june5

Sort of liked the layout while working on it. When looking at it now however, I think it looks a bit too busy? Hrm….

Nevertheless…right now – enjoying the weather, enjoying picking up the kids from school (tomorrow’s their last day before the summer vacation o.O), listening to Patti Smith, baking, plotting in locations & restaurants and activities to do on a google map for the vacation – wrapping up some CHA items for Maya Road (who am I kiddin’…gonna take me another week to wrap them up methinks)

Reminds me…

I counted and counted and counted (really oughta figure out how to add numbers on the comments!! Might have to change the blog-template for that though, and I sort of like this one, hmm….)

Nevertheless, after counting like 6 times I’m fairy sure this commenter is the correct winner!

Congratulations, Patricia! I’ll be dropping you an email shortly, please contact me if you don’t find it anytime soon! And I’ll see about gathering enough opened packages for another drawing…stay tuned…

Now. In my last post I sort of coyly mentioned how happy and humbled I was. This is the reason:

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Winner of the Rafto Prize of –90 and the Noble Peace Prize of –91 for her non-violent struggle for democracy in Myanmar. She sat in political house arrest for almost 15 of the 21 years from 89 to 2010.

Some of you might be aware that I work as a journalist, and recently I got the chance to attend a private meeting between Suu Kyi and the Burmese community here in Bergen. Uhm, can you say star struck?? She’s such an amazing heroine, a beautiful, beautiful Lady inside and out. I’m so over the moon…being able to see her this close (front row!), and to witness how she communicates with her people (ok, the meeting was all in burmese, which I did not understand one single word of…but the atmosphere was amazing….and she later spoke in English at the public meeting downtown, giving a speech that gave me goose bumps…).

*wheee!*

Am still amazed *sigh*.

Am anxious – in a good way. Despite having to work this weekend (and have an early morning tomorrow) I feel pretty happy – trying to not let the expectations get the better of me…

And with this lovely photo I snapped earlier today I just felt like having to share :)

Right. Better whisk away to bed now so I’ll be rested & prepared for work this weekend! The timeplane&deadlines are pretty tight this weekend, but it doesn’t matter…. *smile*

Ps..the giveaway is still on, see post below :)

~~ Fancy a scrappy giveaway? ~~

Giveaway closed now

giveaway1

I’ve been promising my hubby I’ll clean up my scrappy stuff and make a real effort to..uhm..become slightly more organized re the stuff I have.

Hum. I’ve promised him this for a very long time…time to do something about it!

giveaway2

So. Finally made a sort of effort the other day. Just a teeny bit of effort, but hey, it’s a start? So I found a C4 envelope and started stuffing it to the brim. This is what I managed to find that wasn’t opened/used. You see, I have a problem – I usually open things to just use one or two pieces, leaving the rest mint but not used… I dunno. Would it be silly to have another giveaway w/these items as well, or do you really mind such details?? Nevertheless. As mentioned…the items pictured should be nib/never before opened…and as far as I recall I managed to add one or two more items into the envelope after this picture was taken. Prima, Sassafras, Crate Paper, Maya Road, Fiskars, Bella Blvd, Pebbles, October Afternoon and Simple Stories, unless I’m not too mistaken.

Interested?

  1. Just comment on this post. Say whatever you like. Yields one ticket.
  2. Really want an extra chance/ticket? Share the giveaway w/others (in whatever platform you prefer), and come back and comment again.

That’s it.

Drawing open until Sunday evening, and yes, open to everybody. I’ll announce a winner on Sunday (probably around 9pm my time…or if I’m really exhausted from working, I’ll post on Monday :p)

~~ Psst! ~~

Hope you’re not fed up w/cards?? *cough*

card_may

Just a simple one today, for Craft Origine :) Using the lovely spring paper from Poppydesign :D It’s old, but I love that one!! :) Then there’s an almost hidden piece of purple grid patterned Prima-paper behind the tag…it’s subtle but I think it contributes to the overall feel of the card. And the wooden papillon-stamp, as well as a couple hum….totally forgot their name in English again….(svale..?) from the Quatres Saisons clearstamp set :) Must say I adore the ribbon too, totally cool, and totally classic…(I think it’s been sitting among my ribbon-stash for at least five years!!).

Cheers! :)

Psst…seen the lovely farewell-post Sharon made us on the Prima-blog? So sweet :)

So!

Have you seen the Maya Road & Paper Crafters Library giveaways?

Designers from both were given the same 10 MR-products to work with. Watching what the other designers did with the same “limited” products as me was fun for me at least! :D

Here’s the list over the items we got, and the rules:

  1. Love hangers
  2. mini triangle banner canvas pieces
  3. kraft mini tags
  4. Slushie Blue twine
  5. Mini gingham trim - coffee brown
  6. Zipper trim - leaf
  7. Ruffle Blossoms - turqoise and yellow
  8. Jonathan chipboard alphabet
  9. Ornate Vintage Butterflies stamp
  10. Vintage Lace Mums - Apple

And were given the following rules:

  1. You must use all 10 Maya Road products
  2. You can make a layout, 3 cards, or a minibook
  3. You cannot use any other Maya Road products

And here’s my take, teehee:

PCL_ania_layout1web

PCL_ania_layout2web

PCL_ania_layout3web

Now, Paper Crafters Library – who are they? Here’s what they’re saying about themselves:

The world of paper crafting is HUGE! Whether you are a beginner, or you’ve been creating for years, the sheer number of different products, tools, techniques and project ideas can be overwhelming. After spending 6 years helping thousands of paper crafters around the world become more successful in the creative space through her series of kits, digital tutorials and online classes, Andrea Walford began looking for a new approach to education. In 2011 she launched Paper Crafter’s Library – the first, and still to this day, only website that provides an all-in-one learning solution for paper crafters. With almost 800 videos currently in their library and 4-5 new videos added each week, Paper Crafter’s Library offers comprehensive training on products, tools, techniques, and project ideas. From beginner through to advanced, whether your interest is in stamping, card making, scrapbooking, creating 3D items or altered art – you’ll find all the resources you need to navigate the world of paper crafting in ONE place, organized and indexed so that it’s quick and easy to find.

Hum. That’s it!

And the papers? Happy Go Lucky from Pebbles inc. A dang cute collection! Looks a bit muted in my photos, but are so lovely irl :)
