~~ Tutorial: Dear Lizzy, I so love this line! ~~

Loook what a gorgeous, feminine line the Neapolitan collection from American Crafts is!
*lovelovelove*
Truth to be told, I’m not always *that* fond of premade embellishments that’s put together in advance sorta (I sort of feel that defeats the purpose of *creating*), but the embellishments in the AC-line? *loves* Hands down!
So when I got the Neapolitan line from AC for the Glue Arts collaboration, I was in awe – such a generous amount of products and so so pretty!
I truly adored what we got to work with from American Crafts, and whipped up three cards in no time! The huge array of premade embellishments makes it so easy for the busy scrapper to put together a card that isn't only fast to create, but actually looks thoughtfully put together! Love that!
(ok, enough giddying….=) )
First: The two regular cards:
ACcard1
One for a colleague turning 40…
accard2
A card for a babygirl (see the bling?? Doodlebug-bling that’s like, 4 years old or more! Go me for trying to use old stuff!)
ACcard2a
Couldn’t help but sneak in these Maya Road-kraft owls! My cousin and her s.o. are both avid birdspotters…working in the field of ornithology :)
Now, this exploding box:
giftbox1
giftbox3
So easy to create! Especially with the premade embellishments from AC!
ac_box1
First: Create your base. I made mine so that I could use 3" squares of patterned paper to create the sides of the box. Score the sides according to the picture if you want the same sized box as mine. Cut out the outer corners so that you get a "cross" for your actual box.
giftbox2
I've seen an increasing popularity in creating such folders for giftcards or money in regular cards, but it wasn't until I saw this idea by Zuzia (LINK:http://blog.thescrapcake.com/2012/05/amazi...-idea-by-zuzia/ or to my pin: http://pinterest.com/pin/71424344060697834/) I realized I should combine these two ideas into this one.
ac_box2
To do so, start with a sheet of patterned paper in the same pattern as the inner pages. If you're following my measurements, these are the measurements for this one (see picture).
ac_box3
Fold…
ac_box4
..and cut w/a circle puncher. (Thanks for borrowing me this one, Eli! =) )
ac_box5
And as for the box topper, just cut a square and score as following in the picture.
Snip/cut in the sides, fold and adhere so you get a little box.
giftbox4

Hurry over to the Glue Arts blog, you can enter to win a AC-goodiepack (if it’s like the one we got you’re totally in for a treat!) and some adhesive-goodies :) And not to mention – even more inspiration from the other gals :)

Oy. There’s a bloghop where Glue Arts and Want2Scrap have combined forces, and here’s my contribution :)
user posted image
Want2Scrap specializes in baby bling, shaped chipboard albums, laser designs, ribbons and much more!

Among the items I received, I knew I had to use this tricycle-silhouette! Having no die cut machines of my own I sure appreciate when having access to such intricate die cut designs I can only dream about cutting and fussing on my own! And the half pearls are the perfect accent to any card :)

Did you know that you can cut in your raisen's with ease? It's a quite simple way to get even smaller pieces of dimensional adhesive for your project: Simply cut the adhesive while the protectionpaper is still on. No annoying adhesive stuck to your scissors!

Right!

Here’s a blurb from Glue Arts about this blog hop – you need to go to their blog and comment for the chances to win:

Please be sure to post a comment and enter to win a GlueArts prize package of...

~~ Lily Bee Sketch ~~

So, there’s a giveaway going on for those of you who’d like such stuff – this time Glue Arts has teamed up w/Lily Bee & Epiphany Crafts to give away stuff from all three…pretty cool, huh?

I decided to take the sketch provided by Lily Bee with me to a crop with some friends. Struggled some until one of the said friends suggested to just rotate or flip the sketch. Uhm, DUH. Been a while since I worked w/sketch, can’t believe I forgot to do something that simple to look for possible solutions. I’m getting old.576045_3851295801142_1240655338_3685283_926579036_n

So. Got to work with the Handmade collection. LOVES – just right up my alley! And oh, so perfect for these pictures of my nephews baptism!

LB2

Cropping w/friends meant that they could take photos of me while doing the tutorials for Glue Arts! Look ma! Two hands! (as opposed to no hands..or at best one hand….)

lilybee_cu

Added some Maya Road embellishments to the layout, as well as pearls from Want2Scrap.

Yesterday was the Norwegian Constitution Day.

bunad_web

I wore my Østfoldsbunad in the beginning…(no Constitution Day is complete w/o it!)

Sorry for looking blurry & silly. I normally don’t snap photos of myself so I have no idea how to do that right sorta!! Cough.

ania_web

…before swapping to nice clothes for a bit (the bunad became too warm to wear indoors)…then I opted for regular slackerclothes as soon as the last guests left.

Right. Oh, if you wanna, drop by the Prima blog for just a lil bit. Trudi Harrison lifted one of my layouts, whee!

Hey its cool that you are playing diablo 3 as well! Are you playing with your kids? I hope you are enjoying it... other than the server problems on day 1 I think the game is really fantastic so far. I've had a long history with bliz games too (since warcraft 1)

It’s fun, isn’t? I like it so far – much better than I liked Diablo 2! For us it’s become quite the family activity, haha. I am sharing acct w/my daughter, and whenever I am playing she keeps bugging me…right now she is playing w/her cousin and brother. I don’t recall playing WC1, hmm. I did a bit of WC3 though. But I was more into Diablo & the StarCraft games, and ofcourse WoW later on when it comes to Blizzards games.

~~ Happy Easter Inspiration! ~~

Oy! Happy Easter!
easteregg4
What’s Easter without the eggs and stuff?
easteregg5
I only got two of these eggs made for this year, but I am so gonna make more for next Easter! First time doing these eggs, so had to sort of test the waters and stuff. Hard to see, but added these fluffy flocked rub-ons to the surface, originally intended to add some distress paint too but forgot, ahwell. Think I’d want to add more texture to the surface next year!
easteregg3
Made this one for my little sis. Wish someone would make me one too!
Made this one with Prima stuff only. More Easter inspiration from the other Prima-girls can be found here by the way.
egg2
But alas. I’ll have to stick to my open half eggs. Open egg = more inviting by the way. And easier to empty. Way too easy…
egg3
This egg was made by decoupaging vintage sheets of paper and whitewashing it and adding stuff from Maya Road, by the way.
egg4
You can find the instructions here, although really, this egg is so very easy to whip up.

card1
I even made a couple Easter cards, for Glue Arts! Instructions found here.
card2a
Psst. There’s an Easter Egg hunt on the Glue Arts blog atm, for a promocode for 20% off your online purchase of GA adhesives, good April 7th-8th. Just in case you’re buying GA-adhesives anyways – then twenty percent off is sweet, hm? (I love bargains and am kicking myself atm for not remembering that I wanted to try out the moroccan oil hair stuff when one of these websites selling the brand actually had 15% off these flasks just a few days ago. They’re rarely put out for sale, sorta. Grr!)
ania_box2
Right. The final Easter inspo piece for this year…this little box made w/prima stuff. I really didn’t quite know what to do w/these birds nest stuff, as it’s quite dimensional for card/layout use (for my taste anyways).
ania_box3
But as a topper on these box? Amazing! perfect! :)
ania_box1
Riiight!
Guess that’s it for now.
:)

Psst.  Mediterranean France. Any tips or ideas as to where to stay or go? Or eat? I’ve become quite obsessed as to plan in advance where to eat to ensure we’re going to places w/restaurants worth trying out, haha (but really, it sucks when you’re going somewhere special and only have so and so many days/tries to try out the local cuisine…you want to make sure you hit the jackpot every time then, sorta). Right. ‘Nuff rambling :)

~~ Of boxes and cards ~~

It’s Easter and I’m so gonna spend it scrapbooking, watching Doctor Who episodes with the kiddo and very much possible do a hike or two! And oh, sleep in. Lots of sleep in! (I cherish the time spent sleeping!)
Nevertheless. Here’s a box I made, using a Martha Stewart-template (found here), the craft knife by Ingvild Bolme (best craft knife I’ve ever used, hands down…I’m not kidding!), papers from Crate Paper, an old ribbon from Fancy Pants and look at that cute lil bunny from Craft Origine! :)

spring_card
Another card made for Glue Arts using paper and embellishments from Prima, stamp from Craft Origine as well and hm bits and pieces from Sassafras and Maya Road.
spring_cu
I really adore the felt flowers…love the look!
march_box1
Another box, one just put together by scrap paper /Crate Paper) and created around a little gift for my niece. Stamp from Craft Origine, hmhm….love the chipboard butterflies from Sassafras….twine from The Twinery…brads from Crate Paper…
march_box2march_box3
That’s pretty much for now. I’ve been itching to scrapbook layouts lately, but never really got around to start – darn the Doctor Who-marathons that’s going on at home atm. But. Easter should mean more time off so I am SO gonna do at least one layout during this time!!

_DSC9767
Oh, did I mention? Gave in and purchased the Edge 80 optic for my LensBaby. Am totally loving it!! Great, fun toy so far!
 _DSC9837
Gives this fun fun tilt-shift feeling (like, miniature landscape)… am working on getting to know how the lens will tilt when rotated here and there and in what aperture and stuff…
_DSC9732
And yes, manual focus is totally killing me, I really ought to get my sight rechecked soon…?? Anyhow, one of the tip from the edge80-site was to bracket, bracket and bracket your shots when it comes to focus. Of course I read the tip after taking the cam out for a test drive, so I haven’t really applied that yet… Totally need to remember to do that…only….I love shooting the kids and the kids aren’t exactly really uh, still standing & patient, but hey, they give me the kind of challenge I need to crashlearn how to handle this tool, no? (I keep saying to myself anyways)

~~ Album de Famille ~~

cdcard1

Y’know Craft Origine? They’ve got a whole new bunch of stamps out…sure, it’s in French, and I don’t speak one word French, but now they got wood mount stamps so I’ve added cheat labels to them translating what it says. Makes it all easier.. I just hope the translation’s somewhat correct, haha. I mean – everything looks (and sounds) so nice and posh in French for someone who doesn’t speak the language, so it’s not really a problem just stamping them here and there (imo it just makes me sound smart and all…to others who doesn’t speak the language either, that is)…just be nice it’s actually somewhat in theme w/what I’m creating for those who speak it. Sort of.

cdcard3

This one however – is totally in theme w/the card. It’s a CD-card so this stamp fits perfectly in (CD w/family pictures = modern family album =) ). And look at that white embossed clock stamp. It’s from Prima.

cdard3

All the other stuff created on this card is actually from Prima. Plus adhesive used is from Glue Arts.

cdard4

Just wanted to add some quick and nice touches to the card. like the “double folding” holding the cd in place inside the cd.

cdcard2

Tbh I didn’t really like this flower, not the butterfly on the front (they come in pairs)….but after using these two on this card I think I actually like them more than I did before I used them. The ribbon is from..hm…fairly sure it’s Maya Road..?

And oy!
Seen this:

An art-zine. Created by various scrapbookers and artists using Prima (ofcourse).

It’s coming out bi-monthly to stores around. Looks cool, eh?

Ps. You do know Prima is travelling around teaching in Europe atm?

Here’s some info – they’re going to visit stores in Israel, Spain, France, the Netherlands AND Norway! :)
