Yeah, I’m talking to you mom & sis! *smile*

This week Glue Arts is collaborating with Clear Scraps, and I got this funky clearshaped..uhm…shape…thing..called XL Deco shape….plus a transparent sheet to work with. There’s a small tutorial-ish piece on some parts of this layout on the Glue Art blog, as well as the usual giveaway :)

ania_clearscrapsLOa

For this one I dug up lots of my old faves – Hambly rubons, Making Memories journaling tag (the scallopcircle one I used for the title), a mix of Prima and Kort&Godt flowers, some of my favorite 3ndypapir-papers, letters from American Crafts, bling from KaiserCraft and ribbons and button from Crate Paper (I guess they’re the newest SB-things here on this layout).

Oh, and a punch from Martha Stewart…I purchased a new one – the big scallop-fan-thingie. I really love that one, but after using it like, twice or so, it looks like the metal springs refuse to work properly – at least it takes double the work & some wiggling in between each punch. Hrmm. I guess I could try oiling the springs, but I’m afraid that’ll cause lots of oilspills on the papers for a good long while…? I purchased it on sale from a store that folded, so I highly doubt I can get a replacement, bleh..

ania_clearscrapsLOb

Nevertheless…..love that I finally got around to use the Hambly rubons and that these hadn’t dried out. The Glue Art Raisen’s are perfect for the transparency – you’ll hardly see it through the transparency and it yields such nice dimension to the project to :)

And here’s a project I did for Glue Arts last week – a hair clip/barrette holder made w/an empty box (mine’s from zutter). I’ve made one my daughter’s using a few years ago…I think I’ll keep this and fill it w/new hairclips – it’s soon her best friends birthday, and it’ll make a cute minigift methinks. You can find the tutorial here.

ania_container_cu2

I used a mix of Crate Paper’s Neighborhood and Emma’s Shoppe for this one. While I think it turned out a bit too busy, I believe little girls will love it nevertheless. I hope. Smile with tongue out

Right. Weekend, sweet weekend. Might drop by the summerplace sometime this weekend, plus I’ve got a few (cough) photos to edit now =) Can’t wait to share more amazing photos from the big Tove+Trym celebration! :)

Ps. Big thanks for the congratulations on my last blogpost *smile* =)

Ooh.

I see the announcement is on.

This is pretty ridiculous, but somehow I actually made the Prima design team o.O

It’s weird, I think this year is the third year I’ve applied to the Prima DT, hmm..yeah..third I believe.. So I didn’t have any hopes this year, but hey, it’s become a sort of an annual ritual, so I figured I’d try once again.

And now that I actually made it… I’m scared. And a little bit excited. No ok, pretty much stoked. And terrified, cause it’s like…Prima, you know?

Haa!

Here’s the rest of the gals…lots of crazy Prima-talent here, so I honestly almost feel a bit like an outsider :p

~~ Crate Paper Wedding Favor Tutorial ~~

Posted by Ania On Tuesday, June 07, 2011 1 lovely comments

weddingbox1Welcome to the Crate Paper Wedding Special!

You *must* have a look at their wedding pages, what these gals have done w/this theme is simply amazing…I envy their abilities to shoot their projects in like, perfect surroundings and all, and really go for the whole scene & feel and stuff. Nevertheless..

I’m gonna share how I folded these small yet very sturdy boxes here – they can be used for pretty much everything…create two (with one slightly smaller than the other), and you’ll have a box w/a lid…

To create the box, you need a square. 7x7” yields a 2,6” box, 8x8” yields a 2,8” box.

tutorial1

Fold the square both ways – first one side, then reopen before folding the other side. Use a bonefolder to get crisp folds.

tutorial2

Now you need to fold it diagonally. First one side, then reopen before folding it the other way.

tutorial3

Now, open the paper. Fold all the corners into the middle/center, like pictured. (Do the last one not done in the image too)

tutorial4

Letting the folds stay, fold the edge towards the middle. Do the same with the opposide edge. Burnish with the bonefolder.

tutorial5

Now, open the edges you just folded into the middle all the way out. Let the ends stay flat.

tutorial6

Fold the two other edges towards the middle.

tutorial7

tutorial8

Now, open the two last folds upwards and grab the corners as shown in the picture..

tutorial9

Wrap the flaps over like in the image, tuck and create a little box..

tutorial10

Congratulations, you now have a little box! Feel free to add a square of doublesided tape/adhesive to the bottom of the flaps so they will stay put.

weddingbox2

For every one of these boxes I created them an individual tag reflecting the style of the box’s patterned paper, using lots of scraps (lots of scraps is good! Always makes me happy when I actually use even the tiniest bit!). Lovelove the Hambly Screenprints-transparencies used on two of the tags…sigh…the sheets are soon used up (the cream ones)…nrgh! They’ve lasted me a long time though, and I’ll definitely buy them when I see them again!

weddingbox5

I’ve used bits and pieces of both newer and older Crate-collections, and placed the boxes upon sheets of tulle, wrapped them up and tied them w/bakers twine. Some flowers from Prima snuck in on this one as well.

weddingbox6

Thanks for looking, and don’t miss the rest of the wedding fun over at Crate Paper – lasting all week long!

wedding week 2

There’s even challenges going on, just check out this post (and I believe it looks like more are coming).

~~ Unibind Photobook + Quick Tove+Trym Peeks ~~

Posted by Ania On Monday, June 06, 2011 2 lovely comments

Ugh, I’m slightly behind as I just discovered I forgot to share this project for Glue Arts from last week, when we were given the Unibind’s Photobook-creator to play with. In my mind I had sort of envisioned myself scheduling this post, but alas, apparently I didn’t =)

Nevertheless, here it is, my photobook created w/the Unibind-machine!

unibind_cover

For my book I decided to create a sort of greeting-book for a family gathering we recently attended. I wanted it pretty simple, and pulled out the oldie but goldie Scenic Route stash for this one =)
(yeah I’m sorry but I have to brag when I feel I’ve been a good girl actually using my old fave stash which’s otherwise just gathering dust…..!)

unibind_cu1

Well, the letter’s from Crate Paper, and the white tag used is from Elle’s Studio..but the rest – the embellishments & the pages themselves are 100% Scenic Route!

And while I’m blogging anyways; here’s a very few peeks from the “Tove+Trym’s Together-Forever-Celebration” I shot this past weekend. Those knowing Tove knows she’s pretty into the vintage-look, so I’ve tried to edit the photos accordingly. I believe most of the finished photos will have some kind of vintage flare unless I’m told otherwise.

_DSC6727

I truly loved her home. I could get lost shooting details from her home (same thing could be said about Trym’s home as well :p), but that wasn’t really what I was there for, sooo :p

_DSC6778

Her dress was absolutely cute and to die for. Perfect for her and I’d love to be able to pull off such a dress. Unfortunately I don’t really think I can. And no, that’s not a giant airbag for her bike, that’s a shroom. I think I’ll show more images of that one later on when I’m done with the photos.

_DSC7027a

Look at the cute decoration surrounding the garden! They totally lucked out with the weather – it was gorgeous all day long, making it oh-so-perfect for a gardenparty!

Right.

These are the only ones I’ve edited so far, gonna work on these images this week – hopefully I’ll be able to share more of these fun photos in not too long.

wedding week 1

Ps. Don’t forget Crate Paper’s Wedding Week *this* week, as well as the fun and inspiring Childrens Craft Week over at the Glue Arts blog (and as always with Glue Arts there’s giveaways with every post :) ).
