~~ I bind your shadow unto me ~~

Posted by Ania On Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Last weekend was spent at a cabin in Gjermundshavn with three good friends.
We were supposed to scrap and stuff, but uh, didn’t really do too much of that (sorta apart from suddenly deciding “ugh no, we really oughta scrap at 1.30 am Saturday night so we did so for a bit until 3am :P). Instead it was a weekend with wine, lots of photography, song (some people really oughta broaden their repertoire though ;p) and conversations. And a bit of scrapping :)

What follows now are just a few random shots.

Marie pretending to be “The little Match Girl” :p DSC_7472a

Some people never appreciate my desire to shoot food. Ugh! ;p (Lovely focaccia & guacamole made by Sonja. Unappreciating hand belonging to you know who you are! :p)DSC_7488

We took a trip to Rosendal on Saturday, having to take a ferry. For some reason Marie thought it would be interesting to shoot this half-open door, clicking the shutter just as some unsuspecting stranger entered. He looked sorta confused as to why some girl with a DSLR was taking a picture of him :pDSC_7515

Marie (and me) returning to Eli and Sonja who decided to stay put at the cardeck. DSC_7526a

A quick shot outside the Baroniet Rosendal (a sorta manor). Theres…uh…Marie once again with her vintage handbag and lovely parasol. (I promise, it wasn’t just me and her on this trip. She just….shows up all the time :p)DSC_7556a DSC_7561

Oy look. Marie again. Right.
(The photo she took from this angle can be seen here)

While I love taking photos of people (preferrably unsuspecting ones), nature and stuff really isn’t my strongest forte, nor am I good at spotting motifs as some of my friends are. I do try though, and a little practice never hurt, and it’s fun playing in photoshop with these (bit more so than actually taking these photos :p), trying to get the prevision outta these motifs. Sort of.) We shot at high noon and onwards though, and while the light was mostly naturally diffused it was also fairly flat.)

Annoying branch ruining the photo. Ohwell. DSC_7597a

DSC_7609a DSC_7612

I sorta imagine small trolls or something living in these mosscovered huts. Which’s just stubs by the way, not huts :p DSC_7616a

I see what you are trying to shoot, Eli! =)
(This photo is composed by two exposures, to make the incamera-motif visible while the surrounding’s still exposed correctly. Otherwise it’d be very very dark. At least with the settings I shot this in :p)

“Whats up with all this jumping??” quote hubby. Yeah, I dunno myself. Bit of a habit I guess.

Blah blah. DSC_7691

I tried to burn the sky above here somewhat, but it just looks funny & unnatural because it’s originally too blown out. Ahwell. DSC_7695-Edit

Waiting for the ferry on the way back home. I sort of like this photo. Not sure why, I just do. DSC_7735aBy night (or at least late evening) we spotted this huge cruiseship passing our cabin. Contemplated going out to take a picture of it passing by, but dropped it – until Eli changed her mind and ran out to try get some shots of it – so I just followed. By that time the boat was almost gone, so it’s pretty small compared to what shot we probably could have gotten if we wasn’t too lazy and didn’t want to leave the warmth of the fire, couch and wine inside :p

"But the bad news," he said "Girl you're a dandelion."
Dandelion. Hey I need to think about that.
