Little Corner of Ania

My little baby turned one year the other day - actually, I guess that means she's not a baby anymore....:p Had a very nice day, the weather was warm and nice, and the food was delicious (as always when I'm cookin' ;) ) and she was happy and satisfied with all the extra attention.

Originally I planned to bake Oreo-cake for this occasion, but unfortunately the Oreo-cookies didn't arrive in time (had to make mom send me some over from Oslo :p), so I had to bake a backup cake :S

Anyways..more Oreo-cake for just us then, now that the *yummy* Oreo-cookies have arrived :D

Now, I'm trying hard to be objective and stuff, but really...look at this cute face!! *melt* :p She really is adorable! :p

*mwahaha* just got my mom to buy Oreo cookies and mail them to me....as it's easier to get them in Oslo than in Bergen afaik....... Amalie's turning one this sunday, and my Big Plan (yes....Big Plan with caps!) is to make Oreo Dream Cake for her bday!!! Almost can't wait *drool* :D

Don't you hate it when the weather turns really bad and ruins your holidayplans? *sigh*
Ohwell...staying inside ain't that bad, and besides, we got to see "Iceage 2" yesterday, which was pretty amusing (giev the squirrel more screentime!!) and especially fun to watch since it was Adrians first real movie at the cinemas (trying to get him to watch "Brother Bear" at the cinemas wasn't a very good idea as he left terrified after 10 minutes and refused to go back in...and the Pooh movie "Heffalump" he found so scary at times that he spent like half the movie hidden either under or behind the chairs.....

Anyways...Amalie is now one week from turning one year old. That's weird. Time really flies, and I've been looking at the old pictures where she was soooo tiny and now she's soo ....big...even though she's still a baby...at least mine..... *turns really mommyish over the whole thing*

Also...I've been pondering.....Simen says I'm my own worst critic, but really....I love my hobby, and I *know* I'm not as good as those who's really good and manages to keep high quality over their layouts every single time, but....I am not that bad either am I? I'm starting to doubt myself at times, especially when I upload them to various galleries and people go 'nice LO' at 90% of the LO's in the galleries which....well...there's always something nice to say about a LO, but that's such a plain, anonymous thing to say and kinda compares all the LO's with each others even though they're clearly of various quality sorta..? Hm... I'm torn here, because I know how it is being newish and not having much experience nor stuff to make cool/nice LO's and still it was nice having someone comment your LO saying it's nice even though you knew inside it wasn't really all that...not compared to the really nice things most of the other people made.... but still.....comparing my current ones to these kind of LOs.....would that mean that mine aren't really all that still, after all? :/

Ugh, hard to tell, and I don't really mean to sound conceited or anything, but.....it really bugs me because I feel that I've come to the point where I'm able to make average nice LO's, with above average nice LO's now and then. So yeah, it bugs me when I feel people compare them with way less than average LO's...because that's what I feel they are doing, when just saying 'nice LO' to almost everything...kinda....:S At least I personally try and specify what's nice with a LO...kinda shows you actually did take a closer look at someones LO....kinda...

But then again. I was satisfied with my older LO's, which I now think are 'duh, I sure woudln't have made these nowdays would I?'...as in....I think that as I grow and get more experience with this hobby I start feeling less satisfied with older LO's as I am with current ones, which means in a few months I wouldn't be as satisfied with my current ones as I am now....? Hm.

Jeje.....above is a LO I just made at random (yeah I know, the red color of the hearts aren't as red IRL, but still off compared to the rest of the LO), and the two LO's below are scraplifts.

How come the hospitals and also most retirement homes/homes for older people are located like, practically next to a graveyard...!?!?!?

Now, I *guess* it is pretty practical, not having too far to carry the, uhm, corpses after people has passed this world, but seriously....it is not a very encouraging sight, is it, when you're at the hospital & ill and look outside your window and is greeted by the sight of houndreds of graves...?

And yes - Haukeland hospital closest neighbour is a graveyard, Ullevål hospital's next to Nordre Gravlund or something like that, the old hospital in Drammen had a great view to the graveyard (not quite sure it goes for the new one aswell), and a number of retirement homes are - woah...who guessed it - next to a church with a nice graveyard!

Slightly morbid, isn't?

Sometimes I do wonder if the radiocommercials are made by, well, professional media/marketingpeople or if the ideas to these commercials are made by drunk employers on company-get-togethers.

Take the stately commercial I heard on the radio the other day - a man and a woman, obviously just finished having sex, were complimenting each others how good they were. Then the man said he'd got hotdogs for them both. The woman , impressed over his thoughtfulness, thanked him admiringly, whereas the man replied; "no worries, thank Statoil for offering two hotdogs for the price of one".

Right.

*rolls eyes*

I hope the commercial was cheap. Yeah, they do get the message through, but sheesh.....could they be any more embarrassing?

I feel good :) Finally got around to make my grandmother a card and attached some pictures of me and my sister and my children. It's been a while since I saw her - my grandmother that is - I think the last time was at her 90th birthday in December...and since I've been making cards and stuff, I've been thinking about making her one, but never got around to...until now. So really - don't forget about your own grandparents - it doesn't cost you much just to make them smile and maybe even make their day - just scribble some words on a card and mail it!

Oh, I've seen Lord of War and Doom now. The first was a good one, smooth, kinda precise (as in smooth-paced) and stuff. It's the kind of movie that's very interesting, well-played and worth watching. Ever notice how Jared Leto always seem to get that kind of roles? The grungey, addicted kind of roles (I've fancied him ever since his "My so-called life" days)..ohwell...he's pretty yummy anyways :)

Doom was...heh....entertaining....:p At least it made me notice that Karl Urban really is handsome. :p And oh...I don't think I've ever played Doom myself. Hm.

Yay!

My beloved sister was in town sunday-monday, and ofcourse I had to meet her. It's strange how things change. Ofcourse - I love my sister and always had, but well, when we were younger we weren't the best of friends - I think we quarreled and fought a lot as kids and when we were young I always had to be the one watching over her, which kinda was a bit boring and tiresome. I also got into Internet and pcgames pretty early, so our interests and friends weren't always the same - when she wanted to have someone to talk to, or wanted me more out with friends, I wasn't always as willing as she'd like I think.

Anyways. I digress...point is...as grown ups (hah..what a funny word to use :p) I think we've kinda found each others again. At least it's very nice to have her around for a few days now and then, chatting and shopping and showing each others stuff - especially now that both of us are into scrapping ;)

She's starring in a play - Ibsens "Peer Gynt" - playing Solveig ofcourse (she's so fair and pretty - I've always envied her for that :D) - and they're touring for three weeks or so now :) Simen and I watched the play yesterday, and it's amazing - so much better than I thought (heh) and pretty fascinating - and ofcourse it was so cool and amusing to see my little sister in the play :) So proud of her and love her much!

I WANT MY NEW PRECIOUS PAPERS NOW! *cry* It's been a month and a day now, so it should be here anytime soon...really......surface is supposed to take anywhere from between two to six weeks....maybe tomorrow...? *hope* *prays*
