It’s Easter and I’m so gonna spend it scrapbooking, watching Doctor Who episodes with the kiddo and very much possible do a hike or two! And oh, sleep in. Lots of sleep in! (I cherish the time spent sleeping!)
Nevertheless. Here’s a box I made, using a Martha Stewart-template (found here), the craft knife by Ingvild Bolme (best craft knife I’ve ever used, hands down…I’m not kidding!), papers from Crate Paper, an old ribbon from Fancy Pants and look at that cute lil bunny from Craft Origine! :)


Another card made for Glue Arts using paper and embellishments from Prima, stamp from Craft Origine as well and hm bits and pieces from Sassafras and Maya Road.

I really adore the felt flowers…love the look!

Another box, one just put together by scrap paper /Crate Paper) and created around a little gift for my niece. Stamp from Craft Origine, hmhm….love the chipboard butterflies from Sassafras….twine from The Twinery…brads from Crate Paper…

That’s pretty much for now. I’ve been itching to scrapbook layouts lately, but never really got around to start – darn the Doctor Who-marathons that’s going on at home atm. But. Easter should mean more time off so I am SO gonna do at least one layout during this time!!


Oh, did I mention? Gave in and purchased the Edge 80 optic for my LensBaby. Am totally loving it!! Great, fun toy so far!
 
Gives this fun fun tilt-shift feeling (like, miniature landscape)… am working on getting to know how the lens will tilt when rotated here and there and in what aperture and stuff…

And yes, manual focus is totally killing me, I really ought to get my sight rechecked soon…?? Anyhow, one of the tip from the edge80-site was to bracket, bracket and bracket your shots when it comes to focus. Of course I read the tip after taking the cam out for a test drive, so I haven’t really applied that yet… Totally need to remember to do that…only….I love shooting the kids and the kids aren’t exactly really uh, still standing & patient, but hey, they give me the kind of challenge I need to crashlearn how to handle this tool, no? (I keep saying to myself anyways)

Over at the Glue Arts blog we have (ok, had) a Pinterest-week. We were to draw inspiration from images posted to Pinterest, and create something of our own. Well, I loved these Pebbles Inc -papers so much that I decided to create a card when I saw this image:

And while I’m sharing cards, here’s one I did a few weeks ago but never got around to share (hmm, see a trend? Naa…no comments on age and dementia, please :p)…

The coworkers needed a babycard, so I dug into the Fancy Pants Designs papers of mine, found these then a really, really old rub-on from Jenni Bowlin (the bird – impressive how well it still was after so long)..the chipboardframe is from Crate paper, the button from American Crafts, small flowers from Kort & Godt, tulle and some hidden strips of die cut from Doodlebug….

And ofcourse, Hambly onesie-transparency..can’t create a babycard without these now, can I? :)

This is a box I made a few weeks ago, I think it was in the beginning of the Summer or something like that. Mom was visiting and needed a little hostess gift for a friend who invited her on dinner..

So I made this little box, which I’ve created a few times, and even done a tutorial on for the Norwegian challenge blog That’s Just So Cute back in July. Figured I’d share the tutorial here too, in English..hm? (the Norwegian version can be found here). Scroll down…

See…it holds such candies so well…I think it’s a nice treat and it’s pretty quick whipping up aswell – I only had half an hour creating and photographing this one before mom was off for that dinner of hers...all materials: Prima Marketing for the box above, and lots of Crate Paper for the box in the tutorial.

 

Right, the tutorial. First you have to find a small, open box, or create your own (see tutorial on how to fold the box itself here).

 

Find a thicker cardstock/cardboard for the top/bottom. I usually ask the LSS whenever I’m dropping by if they have any pieces they don’t mind giving me – they normally get such when they receive their papers. Place your box upon, and cut out two squares larger than your box.

 

Like this – one for the bottom and one for the top!

 

Dress up the bottom/tops..

Now, for the flap at top, cut out a strip of cardstock slightly wider than your box, and adhere it to the bottom between the bottom/box, fold/score, adhere to the back of the box..leave the top for now, we’ll decorate it first before attaching it to the flap..

Right! Decorate the top!

Then adhere it to the flap..feel free to add like, ribbon or something like that so it’ll be easier opening the box..(I know, I’m so wonderful at explaining…but the truth is, I usually just wing these kinda things so maybe it’s why I find it hard to put it into words, hmm! Nevertheless, I hope you got an idea of how to do these boxes..it’s just to get started then it’s pretty self-evident what to do sorta :) )

When I saw Jenny Chesnicks post about Crate, I thought it was such a great idea. Wish I had done that for the other manufs I’ve been with..maybe I did, maybe I didn’t…can’t recall =)

Nevertheless…I’ve been with Crate Paper for a year, which’s two terms (as they do 6-mo terms)…it’s been a pure pleasure, and I’ve truly loved creating with their lovely collections. So – join me in this little walk down memory lane, won’t you? :)

This was my very first official project for Crate Paper, and still one of my favorites. Restoration is such a gorgeous collection, and honestly, I thought I’d use it lots and lots but turns out – I don’t really feel I’ve scrapped a lot with this collection. I really enjoy doing small altered stuff my way…one of my favorites are these matchboxes..cute and inexpensive little hostess-gift for the cold months...

One of my favorite layouts…love the laidback feel and the retroish colors and patterns…and oy, that’s like, me in the pictures too! Omg!

I think this is the first layout I made w/the CHA-W stuff, namely the portrait-collection. Oh, and the very first layout of my nephew! :)

My darling niece – she’s coming over next week! Can’t wait! This one was created for a color challenge :)

I love this card because of two things; Toy Box, which’s a collection I initially didn’t think I would really like but which turned out to be one of my to-go-collections, and because of the small symbols used on this card which’s perfect for the one getting it.

Just gotta add this one, my daughter loved this book I made for her…hmmm..I think this one was a tutorial over at the Crate-blog which I can’t find on my own blog, so I guess I’ll repost it here sometime after CHA :)

Right! You can find the new Crate Paper design team on their blog all this week. Atm only the first batch has been posted, and I'm thrilled to see that Amy Heller is returning, and hope more of my favorites still are on the team :)

Have wrapped up all my CHA-projects now – I just need one tiny nap and then I’ll attempt to clean up. Or something like that. My MIL took her two sons and their kids along with her to Kongeparken…I’ve gotten rapports that everything’s well with them :)

Oh, and by the way? Check out this awesome ring I got in the mail the other day. Thanks so much, Banglamarie!! And yes, I do indeed shoot people! Haaa! :p (it’s a bit large, so it’s resting comfortably on my middlefinger….so whenever I’m showing people this ring, I sort of give them the bird…lovesit ;)

It’s sort of funny, despite having been a manufacturer-DTmember for various manufs for quite a few years by now, I haven’t really had to create samples for the CHA-show (Craft & Hobby Association) before. Now all of a sudden, I have two manufs to create a number of samples for, which’s why it might be more quiet than normal around here. Not sure if there’s any difference, I sort of notice it’s been more quiet around here since I started working full-time (I try to pre-scedule in bulks but must admit it’s been a bit random as to whether I’ve remembered to do so or not so far).

Nevertheless. Figured I’d pop by and share this one at least!

It’s a mini I sent off to Tove, along with her images…

during the evening I let her and Trym borrow my iPhone so they could play with the Pocketbooth-app.

Then I really wanted to give them a small gift, so I whipped up this mini for them…It was featured at the Glue Arts blog the other day, where we had a collaboration with Fiskars…you (should) know the drill, there’s always giveaways over at GA :)

 

I used lots of scraps and older stash for this one (yay me and all that stuff) – rubons from Hambly Screenprints and Fancy Pants Designs, papers from Crate Paper, Scenic Route, Sassafras, Prima and even some from Tinkering Ink (anybody recall them?? I don’t think they are around any longer, just like SR…?). The calendar on the cover is from Elle’s Studio – ofcourse :)

All the pages was covered with this white (and misted) cardstock, to prove some kind of unity). Note the cute clouds :)

Ok. Back to working on the CHA-stuff! I’ll share more when I can breathe a little – like, I got the cutest gift today in the mail. Loves :)

So, school’s out, and not surprisingly I was last-minute-everything on stuff this year. Like, when I wanted to bake oreo-cookies as teacher favor and ended up doing regular choc chip cookies because the oreo-cookies didn’t quite pan out the way it was supposed to. Nevertheless, made a little box for the cookies late in the evening the day before…this is the only picture I snapped of the contents of the box..look…Hambly Screenprints cupcake-paper! It’s made of a sort of thick vellumlike material, so I sort of imagine it’s great to place cookies upon too..like, thick baking paper…?

It’s pretty no-fuss&simple…blame it on my last-minute-everythingness! The woodgrainpaper & chipboard is from Crate Paper :)

ALso had to do some gift wrapping, and what’s better than kraft + 3ndypapir-papers + doily + vintage paper + Hambly?? Not to mention repurposing a tag I already had made (for the Crate Wedding Favors if you might recall).

Love getting to use this elephant-paper (Hambly once again :) )

 

What else’s new? Hmm..

I’ve gone slightly berserk at ebay..this is Deborah Lippmann’s “Bad Romance”. I got “Ruby Red Slippers” the next day, and am awaiting like five more polishes. *cough* (I deserved it! Worked the whole weekend so by the end I was like, I’m so gonna hit ebay now! Love quick shipping!)

In the craze trying to wrap up the Tove+Trym-pictures I’ve neglected to share the other snapshots made while in Oslo!! Here’s my lovely, adorable nephew!! Sigh, miss him so!

My sister and I are both in our thirties (YIKES!), and have never been out eating just the two of us. Never. So, thanks to the kindness that’s Groupon (haha) we had tapas the first evening…just the two of us and a bottle of wine…. it was such a great time and we both cannot understand why we haven’t done that before. I guess we had to grow up and become adults first…(and have Groupon come our way .p)

Then we went around Aker Brygge in search for some beer..(or in her case; Irish Coffee).

Only found boobs, though *wink*

And a gorgeous view..snapped lots of fun photos of us two…

When I was done shooting Tove+Trym on Saturday, my sister insisted on fetching me (at 11.30am) and driving me to her home (I originally stayed with mom, but sis insisted I needed to try her new outdoor Jacuzzi). Well, I was tired and sleepy and exhausted and she insisted to make me drinks and that I had to try the Jacuzzi before I left and it wouldn’t be time in the morning, so I was like, fine, fine, I’ll go just so you’ll stop bugging me…and well…I’m so glad I gave in, cause every photographer SO needs a Jacuzzi after a hard days work!!! We sat there for almost an hour before calling it a night…lovely ending to a great day :)

 

The next day…me and my adorable nephew once again…and LOOK! WE’RE MATCHING!!! ;)

Right. Been a few relaxing days off work where I did pretty much nothing, ahhh (I worked last weekend again = I have days off work the following Thurs&Fri), X fingers I’ll get my CHA-boxes today so I can get started before work starts again on Monday!!
