So. When realizing there still were time to join the Prima 12 days of Christmas Cards challenge I figured why not – I need to create a couple boxes anyways. I picked Leslie Ashe’s card, boggled for like three minutes then off I went.

primabox2

Seriously. Once I figured how I’d like the boxes (love my Scor-Pal!) & which main papers to use, it only took me like 15 minutes to pull together the focal point of this box. And yeah, once again I’m late joining the trends – I’ve only recently (like, last week) started thinking hey, this feather thingie? Awesome!

All the paper’s from the Melody collection – love, love that one…unfortunately my stash of papers from this collection is dwindling! A pair of leaves, a large flower as focal point, some bling bling and smaller flowers and voila. Hmm. Might stick some more smaller flowers in between here and there, hmm….ahwell. Tomorrow I’ll fill this box with homemade chocolate nuggets :)

The twine’s from Maya Road, by the way.

Right. Bed then work this weekend! got a couple of projects I have to work on as well, whee..

With Christmas follows lots of Christmas looking stuff. I doubt I’ll create too many Christmassy project this year…but I suppose you gotta do a little Christmas, hm?

box8

Well, enter these matchboxes which’s the perfect hostess gift this Christmas…everybody needs some extra long matches to light up all the Christmas dinner lights and stuff…

box3

All the bits and pieces are from Maya Road…it’s easy to just grab whatever scrap that’s lying on your desk…

box4

And you may say hey, butterflies aren’t Christmassy. Well…they can be if you sprinkle cherry red glitter on them. Notice the Christmas tree on the spine. Clever, if I may say so myself….*smirk*

box5

The paper’s from a 6x6” pad of Authentique by the way. Handy size. Pretty traditional & Christmassy papers. And it’s even doublesided.

box6

Pretty pretty snowflake-chipboards adorned w/white paint & sparkly glitter :) Oh, and see the yellow stars? It’s apparently discontinued at Maya Road…booo! (ok, I’m pretty sure I’ve had it for a good long while now, but only until recently started to find more and more uses for these stars…dang, isn’t typical :/!)

box9

Pretty spines!

box7

Now peace out (oh ha.ha.ha.)

:)

~~ Prima’s 12 days of Christmas–day 9 ~~

primaday9a

Prima’s doing a 12 days of Christmas card inspo thingie. I needed to create a number of cards real quick, so I figured I’d check in on Prima for some quick inspo…picked a card by Gerry van Gent (day 9) & created a card inspired by hers :) The card is for a newborn baby by the way…need to send off the pressie asap, so am really glad I finally got around to get the card made..am soo behind on stuff! :/

primaday9b

The card itself is created by a 12x7” strip, folded so it’d make a 5x7” card..the patterned paper is quite “blocked”/covered in blocked sections..I think it makes the card more interesting when cutting the paper so the different blocks are evident in the paper..hard to explain, you gotta see the paper/card itself I suppose…

Right. A few days of blindness & more days of being severly impaired by a pair of glasses is no good for my timetable and todo-list related to work, privately or for scrapbookingstufff..sigh…gotta jet, trying to wrap up as much as I can for the rest of the Sunday!

~~ Flowers galore..~~

So when someone’s on a sick leave, you like, send flowers to them sorta…although….flowers are pretty and nice, but hum, personally I think I’d appreciate chocolate more, hm? Or even better…flowers + chocolate! Tah-dah! 2 in one, and I even threw in a lil’ butterfly just for good measure…

So…the inspiration…the Prima november color palette…lovesit!

choco2

Waddayathink? Wrapped a huge bar of chocolate in a neutralish color, added grey Maya Road ruffled ribbon as a background for the gorgeous flowers from Prima…

choco3

Honestly, I don’t really do flowers a lot…at least not on my layouts and stuff…I like dimension, but most flowers have way too much dimension sort of….for layouts and most cards…it’s just a personal preference….but for altered projects….I don’t mind going wild, adding lots and lots of dimension to the projects…it sort of feels ok then…I mean..altered stuff is supposed to be bulky! It just makes it look more prettier sorta, haha.

choco4

Right.

Got a slight drawback today..causing me to sleep lots and lots, and still I think I’m gonna hit bed again now…I had hoped to get lots done, esp at work and all, and at home with the upcoming CHA projects…but right now…both my head and eye aches so bad and everything’s just bleh. I think I’m gonna give up & just hit bed for tonight! :/

So. Have you seen the Maya Road + Jillibean Soup Craft Swap? If not – hurry on over! You can even win a pack of goodies PLUS the other ladies creations are nothing short of amazing!

Here’s my contribution – I got to play with the Winter Tortellini & Spinach Soup collection. Love the turquoise hues here! And although I feel the layout is “done”, it still feels…unfinished to me…I mean..I tucked lots and lots of bits and pieces here and there methinks, but yet….I feel like I should have done more to the layout – but what?? Hmmm

razz2

It’s adorned w/my fave ornate vintage butterfly stamps, measuring trim, and LOOK NEW YELLOW STAR! LOVESIT!….some of you might love the colored linen burlap roses..I am on the fence myself…but gotta admit..it IS pretty cool looking!

razz3

Love using trinket pins…! And notice the transparency tickets tucked behind there..razz4

And that vintage rabbit piece is such a favorite! (and matched the papers darn well :) )

razz5

Speaking of favorites – I’ve got a new Maya Mist favorite! Buttermilk Cream!! Omg…it’s so mellow, so gorgeous, so milky….perfect!! Here I let the more vivd colored mist dry somewhat before adding buttermilk cream – love how it subdues the vividness… and oh, saffron yellow twine! Loves!

razz6

The photo was perfect btw. I just hoped I had enough yellow ink for just another sheet of photos. Turned out half of the sheet was perfect – but not the half one this photo sat at. Missing yellow ink = unique filtered photo *wink*

Ahwell. Am off this weekend on a seminar/conference, attending a few courses..among them…how to write better titles & lead paragraphs…so so need that, so whee…! :)
