Little Corner of Ania

On Friday we had a little bachelorette/hen party for Maren. She originally didn’t want to have such a party – just a scrapping evening with friends at the local scrap-store, Hobbykroken. Sure thing we nodded in agreement, what a splendid idea. So – she got to borrow the store in the after-hours – or so she thought – and invited us all over.

Only, we didn’t really agree with her about the no bachelorette-part. We made our own deal with the owners of Hobbykroken. Maren would arrive to closed doors at the store, left wondering why they had forgotten her & us. Here’s Ann Hedvig and Ellen, who found a great hiding place across the streets (tall people only :p).

Us smaller people however, had to hide behind the bushes in order to be able to peek at the store. Here’s Eli and Sonja. Yes, we got a few comments and looks from people walking past while hiding/during shooting a bewildered Maren outside the closed store.

Anyways. Long story short – we went to a photo-studio where we had a photo-session. A “few” photos incoming – I took most of the photos unless noted otherwise.

Title: “Get this party started” - Pink

At the local, scrappy version of Eurovision (I explain more about it in the post before this one) we’ve arrived at challenge #3 – to scrap a layout containing parts of the lyrics of last years winner, “Fairytale” by Alexander Rybak, as the title of the layout.
I decided to whip up my Fancy Pants Designs-stuff, an old self-portrait (sort of – I hate taking photos of myself – I seriously admire those who do that like, all the time, and always get such wonderful, awesome results. Myself closeup? No.Way. My legs, or some cute/awesome shoes however – no problem! ;p)
Anyways. Here’s my result, using part of the lyrics from the song as the title/journaling.
Materials used: Fancy Pants papers, rubons, ribbons, sticker (star) & button. Bling: KaiserCraft. Letters: American Crafts & Adornit. Gold rubon: Hambly.

Will compensate by sharing some photos from a recent trip (well, made during the Easter) to Damsgårdsfjellet (starting at Laksevåghallen, if you are familiar with the area. One hell of a trip uphills! Too steep for my taste, but all in all, a nice, not too long hike)

I dunno how it is where you live, but at pretty much all the mountains/tops around here there’s posts where the local trekking/hike association supply books & pens so people can sign themselves in w/name & date/time, as a small “proof” that they’ve been there. The kids loves finding these & sign themselves in.

The great thing about Amalie is that despite being able to pout & whine in between, she’s quite competitive – she wants to be the one in the lead. So as long as we allow her to walk first (or usually, tell her to take turns w/her bro being in the lead) she’ll be one happy & enthusiastic hiker. The kids got these bottles for Christmas – love them – customized Sigg bottles w/names and all. We gave these to our kids+nephews&nieces.
I’m not too fond of this kind of nut-mix myself, but for hikes? Awesome & yummy :)

Title: “Bring me Down” - Lenka

Remember this layout I made for PiHs sketch-contest? :)
Well, it appears that I was one of the winners – yay! :)

I hosted the Thursday Trends post over at the Pink Paislee-blog on Thursday (duh). Here’s my take on one of todays trends in scrapbooking:

Aligning your elements very close to (usually just) one end – at the edges.
Have to admit I wasn’t entirely comfortable with that, so I tried to balance the small photos at the bottom corner with the larger photo. You can read more about my thoughts re the trend and this over layout here.

Pink Paislee products used: 365 degrees - papers, Flip Notes Jorunal Pad, Ribbon Pleats and Bella Brads. Letters: Expressions Glitter Alphabets.
Other: Black acrylic paint, glimmer mist (jazz blue), kraft cardstock, fiskars borderpunch and sewing machine.

Am attending an ongoing contest over at my local scrapbook-forum, Minneriket. It’s based on Eurovision, a ridiculously huge song-contest which’s somewhat popular in Europe. It’s like, kitschy, and everybody has an opinion about it either way. Anyways. We’re grouped in different countries, and my team picked Great Britain =) Our first challenge was to scrap a layout in our country's’ colors. Here’s my layout:

I used white cardstock, patterned papers from Pink Paislee, glimmer mist, gems from Prima and letters from Luxe Designs and Adornit.

I also haven’t shared my last Pencil-Lines layout. We were sponsored by American Crafts, and Elizabeth Kartcher created the sketch we used. Loved the sketch, truly – but scrapping it? Uh, I had to redo the layout three times – ugh – scrapping most of the original materials I was scrapping with. Good thing I had a good deal AC stuff on my own! And even by the end I removed two of the silly, yellow circles…I dunno..I really love AC stuff, but I rarely feel happy about the end-results….. ohwell… here it is nevertheless..

Whenever I create cards or similar, I prefer to make them specifically for whoevers getting it. So when I create stuff without anyone specific in mind, they often just end up in my box of unused cards for emergency-situations. So, figured I could at least see if someone else would want these unwanted cards and stuff - that would be best, no? If they actually got used for something... so, I opened a little epla-store (the Norwegian equivalent to etsy) called "Anias lille hjørne" (which is "Little corner of Ania" translated to Norwegian ;) ) Feel free to have a peek :)



 
Made a little surprise for my mom and grandma for Easter. Had to wait to post´em here because I was slightly late getting them off the mail, so they didn´t get them until like two days ago or so.


It’s just some cards wrapped around some chocolate. I hear they’re very happy (and mom was pretty surprised as she thought I only sent a greeting to grandma, not her aswell ;) )

  I used mostly Fancy Pants Designs here – paper from Road Show (Strips), felt & buttons… the ribbon is from Prima and I also used my Fiskars & Martha Stewart – punches. These cards/wraps were showcased in the FP post for Road Show strips & cards. This card is kept closed w/Basic Grey magnets (note to self – need to buy more of these!).

It’s one of, if not the best “4th of July” collection I’ve seen – yes, it has the traditional colors and patterns, but with a more generic approach which will deem it more useable for non-americans as well. Yay!

Alright, it’s been a while since I devoted a whole post to my kids (bragging is a mothers right, no?), so what’s following now is a few photos of the kids getting their Easter-egg (we’re fortunate having nice grandparents – my mom sends the kids Advent-calendars for Christmas and my husbands mother gives them Easter-eggs = less work for for us, yay!).

So if you're here for scrappy stuff - feel free to just ignore this post :)

Title: “This used to be my playground” - Madonna

I really love the sketches HegeAL makes – so very inspiring (check it out for yourself!) – so it didn’t take me long to whip up this layout for Papir i Hjertets sketch-contest.

As with the card-contest (see post below), the conditions for this contest – in addition to following the sketch – was to use a sheet of paper thats at least one year old and a non-scrappy item. Well, my 1++ old paper (or rather, transparency – I do hope it’s ok??) was this pink transparency “Grandma’s Wallpaper” which was released for CHA Winter 08 (I’ve had this transparency since fall 08 :) ). So, 1+ year old – check!  

As for the non-scrappy item – I’ve saved this piece of black burlap from my son’s pants for a good while – probably for a year or so – so I was pretty happy to finally get to use it. PS! Look at my lovely purple nail(s)!! =)

I used the backside & rubbed my fave letter rub-ons from Hambly on it - “Stamped Alphabet”.

Oh, and look at the cute felt flowers from Fancy Pants & bling from Prima :)

I only glued three of the edges on it to the layout, allowing it to be used as a pocket for my journaling-tag :) It’s sprayed w/glimmer-mist (duh) and embellished with rub-ons, leftover-transparency & a kraft-sticker.

  Played some with transparencies & Kraft-stickers on the top…  A closeup of the center of the layout – I like the dimension just folding a sheet of 12x12 cardstock (or patterned paper) instantly gives you – like on this layout I did a while ago.

Below is some photos from yesterdays trip to the circus. We had great spots– right in front of the middle. Awesome :) The kids loved the whole thing (although – note to self: do not reveal for them what we’re gonna do until like, we’re actually leaving. Did the mistake of telling them about the circus the day before – and they were sooo looking forward to it & letting us know about it all.the.time :p) I might share some more circus-photos later on, after they’ve been published. I did spot a few nice ones :)

(oh and look – that’s me in the main-photo here – there were some people from BA there too (a large city-paper) – and I’m the one kneeling & you can only see my knees & camera really :p Having to take photos next to the BA-photographer sure made me nervous – he’s one of the really good ones. :p)
