Again, in no particular order…nor limited number..

the alterables of 2012…

giftbox

*Love* this Dear Lizzy-collection! So girlie & cute! All the embellishments made it easy to put together this exploding box..

giftbox1giftbox2

jar1

I’m quite fond of the way this jar w/Sea Salt & Honey Caramel sauce turned out…the mix of the different fabrics  - burlap, tulle, broad ribbon, twine, felt and velvet really played well together here..

banner_chip1

I made this banner for Maya Roads CHA-summer exhibition. It’s actually a part of four different banners using different materials; this one w/chipboard, mist & glitter is my favorite of them all..

banner_chip6

Just look at the way the iridescent glitter shows off the mists so well!

booklet2

This booklet however, was created for the CHA-W exhibition..also for Maya Road..

booklet3

I simply adore the broad organza ribbon..so sad it’s discontinued!

booklet6

Inside – portraits of the kids…fits well on the mantel…or book shelf…

box1

Altered chocolate-box..love making these…this ones’s for my beloved grandma…

box1

Another box – a homemade one this time…made this so it’d hold a few pieces of chocolate..

ania_flower

A pretty little tree made of Prima roses :)

Love this angle ..

An Easter-egg for my sister..

~~ Cards of 2012 ~~

Posted by Ania On Saturday, December 29, 2012 2 lovely comments

In no particular order..my fave 10 cards for 2012..

ania_januar1

See the largest flower on the card? One of my fave flowers from Prima, and one that I’m hoarding…sigh..need to use more…it’s so pretty! Also, weaving a paper heart is pretty and yields a very cute look..must do that more whenever I’m outta ideas and in a hurry when creating cards!

hk1

I simply love that backgroundpaper from Prima…the postage stamp one… also, love mixing larger and smaller flowers & tickets!

primaday9a

Again…mixing different flowers + gems = pretty!

pp2

You don’t even have to use flower-flowers…just fuzzy cut/die cut flowers from a sheet of paper and layer them beneath something. Like on this card w/papers and stamp from Pink Paislee :)

thomas

Love that star punch from Martha Stewart…my most recent punch-purchase..love this one because it’s using papers from like, 2006 or so…classic Basic Grey :) And as (almost) always w/babycards I need to add transparency from Hambly..either the onesie one or the elephant one :)

smile_card_web1

I sort of like this one, but am not quite sure how pretty it is…it’s a bit simple…but then again…a glittery golden hexagon? Add a very minimalist (and trendy) colorscheme… Mmm..sold..

jar4

Adding this card because it’s one of those that didn’t turn as envisioned yet you sort of like it because it’s created by weird odds and ends..sorta..

tormod

Another babycard! Love this one because of the glittery star thingie here!! It totally makes the whole card!

atcforstaceyy

Sure, it’s small..but pretty *smile* Also, see that canvas butterfly? One of my absolute favorites from Prima….so versatile, so handy, so pretty!

50a

And I suppose..this really is one of my very very favorite card this year…everything clicked for this card…plus, the person who got this card is such a lovely colleague so I was truly happy that this card turned out this pretty (imho ofc ;)) for her =)

~~ A box for mom ~~

mammabox

Got inspired by the December PPP over at Prima that I decided to base my box for my mom on these colors :)

PPPdec

Such pretty colors, no?

mammabox1

It’s a chocolate box. Again. I know. I just really enjoy decorating these & giving them away :)

mammabox2

And the color combinations fit perfectly well together (probably wouldn’t have thought of combining these colors myself)

mammabox3

If you look close you can see how I added crackle detail to the well resin (see through candy rock crackle paint on the rocks and the roof, and picket fence white crackle paint on the logs and bucket.. I like adding subtle & sneaky details like that..

mammabox4

And see that little bird made of sequins? Sort of didn’t like it at first, but now I am getting worried cause I’m running out of these! They sort of are handy for such altered boxes & the style they’re made in/of (?) after all!

~~ The Hairdo ~~

ania_tombow

Sooo I normally dislike being on the other side of the lens, but this time it was sort of ok. My stepfather snapped a few photos of me doing my sisters hair for my nieces confirmation. Can you believe I totally forgot to snap a photo of her hair myself!? Ugh! Glad my stepfather loves taking photos himself too! :)

ania_tombow1

If you hurry on over to the Maya Road blog, there’s a Tombow swap thingie going on now, with prizes and stuff. Hurry hurry! The inspiration is amazing (I’m sharing blogpost with Ronda…her tag? WOW! Love it so much!)

ania_tombow2

I have had mixed experience with tape runners and chipboards. Usually the tape runner adhesives are too strong, they easily “rip” off layers of the chipboards…I got to try two different tape runners from Tombow for this blog swap thingie, and while the stamp runner was like, yeah, regular chipboard experience, the vellum runner worked like a charm – not too strong so it didn’t tear off layers, but still strong enough to make the papers I used stick properly…and even the glitter :)

ania_tombow3

Oh and look! I’m using zipper trim! Whee! (I have had a hard time using them before..but think they’re growing on me now!).

Oh, and the stuff are mostly Maya Road, while the paper’s My Little Shoebox but the ones on the chipboards – that’s ooooold leftover scraps from Fancy Pants Designs :)

~~ Late to the party! ~~

box2

As usual. I’m the one sitting on the fence while everybody else gets swept away w/one trend after another while I go hummm, I dunno….then when I decide that ok, it’s actually cool it’s usually at the time when everybody else’s got something new to obsess over. Doilies, feathers…and now..the ombre trend…

box6

Ahwell. At least I’m here now ;) I made this chocolate box for my grandma dearest using mostly Maya Road stuff… like this white organza rose ribbon which can be customized with mist and ink and stuff…

You can find the Maya Road blog post here by the way..

ribbons

Just paint a whole length of ribbon with some mist and water (I used popsicle blue maya mist, love that one), dabbing lots of pigment on the first lengths then just keep painting the ribbon as the pigment fades..

box5

Love sprinkling dots of liquid pearls and sparkling gems all over …:)

button1

I love the Maya Twine Cording – mostly because they’re thick and solid..however..it also makes it difficult threading it through button holes and stuff…well…unless you have that handy little eye needle thread thingie, you can just use regular sewing thread…

button2button3

Voila. Or something like that.

(I know – it’s a very simple trick, and one I should have thought of like, long, long ago, and not just now…duh..hope I’m not the only silly one out there, hence me sharing this tip ;) )

box7

The paper’s from Prima by the way..and the chocolate hearts are yummy :)

thomasOne of the best babycollections out there ever – Basic Grey’s good old Oh Baby! Boy / Girl….sigh..miss that one..!

Even snuck in a piece of Chatterbox on top, see that? And as always when doing babycards – had to add the onesie from Hambly Screenprints… :)
(did you see the news that Allison is now designing for Webster’s Pages? Awesome!)

Right. Have a sick little boy at home :/ And as usual, lots on the todo-list! RIiiight…off I go..
